I feel sorry for the club, the fans and the players. Finally we had a season of stability in terms of the way the club was being run, a vastly improved on field performance and the confidence of the fans returning. Now all this has been derailed, regardless of how it plays out.
I must have watched a different game BB. Epere and Ratu have zero potential to play first grade. They are run of the mill Ron Massey players. Agree on Clarks low minutes but I thought he was good when he was on . The stats back that up.I reckon a full pre season will show whether Clarks got it or not. I think there is potential there
Very soft forwards although Oliver Clark defends strongly and ran well while he was on. He has size and youth on his side. McQueen and Rochow are finished. Heleta always plays well. Robson runs hard but has poor reads in defence. He’s a winger in my view. Young Price tried hard on the wing and McIntyre looked ok . Gamble makes some
errors but he plays for 80 minutes and at least tries things. His kicks were mostly fine but no one chased them. he runs and passes well but needs to improve his defence. I’d keep him at this stage. The forwards are woeful.
I agree a couple of signings would be handy. I thought with no ball we tackled quite well. Yes Benji is crabbing sideways but apart from Chee Kam we had little go forward. Losing Lawrence early didn’t help. Blake Greens kicking game was way better than Brooks and Benjis, though Brooks played well generally, We also lack a creative forward . There is no one who does anything bar hit it up. Too many of our forwards do exactly the same thing. I still don’t get the Nofa defenders on the forum. Yes he ran ok but thats not the issue . Dumb plays and defensive errors persist and outweigh his attack in my view. With all our current injuries Cleary should be looking to improve the squad. As for ISP I stick to what I said at the time. Drinkwater was contracted and should not have been released. The results since his " charitable" departure show this clearly.
