FWIW, just looking out the window and the thick smoke that was so bad yesterday seems to be almost gone on the gold coast. Is this a sign of things improving across the board?

Met Zane Tetevano a few times.
Might not mean much… but he’s a lovely guy.
Super friendly & generous.

Can’t condone domestic violence but I’m sure he regrets his actions.
No one can enrage us fellas as much as the woman we love.
Some fights can get seriously heated from both parties and women can really add fuel to the fire when really both parties should seek space and gather their thoughts and calm down.

Zane played well this year.
Should prove to be a really good signing.

Super friendly and generous that beats up women. Sweet as - Sign him up.

G’day @fair-dinkum: I agree the black on gold would look great. But don’t forget the other 1/2 of our joint venture being the Wests Magpies, have white on their jerseys.
Do you feel to be fair to them we should have a fair amount of white on our jerseys?
🍒 ⛪ 🎅

We should have what looks good. White looks atrocious. Thankfully, it looks as though we’re not having the tiger across the jersey again. That was horrible too. The rabbitohs stick to what works. Its rare they trot out in a white jersey. Same with Canberra. Teams with certain colours should take advantage of that. Parramatta is another one.

@The_Patriot i wouldn’t want him anywhere near the tigers with his past history mate. I am all for second chances but that’s just something I can’t cop. Good player though just too much baggage for me Patriot.

So you are not all for second chances if you don’t like it.

Sounds very liberal.

It’s not Tetevano’s 2nd chance. He was charged for bashing his girlfriend 4 times. How anyone could support this signing is beyond me.

There is a chance he may play for us, of course some people are willing to look past his disgusting behaviour!

Yeah that’s pretty bad eh? And yet somehow the guy is not in gaol and is free to play in the NRL, even at international level! I don’t get it at all.

I’m very conflicted - he is a good player and we really need a good prop, and I would welcome his signing, but when I think of what he has done and how he has gotten away with it scot free, it kinda makes me sick. Different to players like Packer, who have shown genuine remorse for their single dog act. This guy has offended 4 times! There is obviously no remorse for his actions there.

To the poster who earlier commented that it was all history, try telling that to his girlfriend, whom I’m sure lives with the trauma of what he has done to her, every single day.

He served 9 months for the offences and hasn’t re-offended since.

Unfortunately, if the articles are to be believed, he grew up around domestic violence and probably didn’t have the best role models around him.

This is not to excuse or minimise the behaviour, however, he’s done his time and one can only hope he has learned from his past.

He did his time yes. But the NRL cannot be taken seriously until they are shown to be heavy hitting and consistant with blokes that do appalling things towards women. There’s no excuse EVER to abuse women. Sadly, some dispute this. You do that, there should be certain privileges that are gone for good and playing football for mass amounts of cash is one. If you’re a repeat offender then there should be absolutely no way back. No sympathy. No more chances. Get lost. You pretend to pee in your mouth or hump a dog you get more punishment apparently. Where’s the logic there?

I don’t get the lack of trust in him doing a job at 9. I think there’s a lot of potential upside to him. Defence under fatigue is the main challenge but any first grader can get that sorted.

His service from dummy half was pretty bad. To be honest Reynolds would be the one I’d be most desperate to move on.

Passing from dummy half can be improved over the off season. He will need to be fit enough to play close to 80 minutes and defend well. He reads a game as well as any half running around and hopefully that can be translated in to reading the game from the number 9 position where you don’t have as much time as a half to decide. He is still quick enough off the mark to cause problems around the ruck.

I really want Reynolds to be in the team somewhere, I think we play a lot better when he is there. I’m just not sure he is the right choice to play hooker though. He is 30 years old, his body struggles for fitness constantly and he has ongoing injuries. Hooker is the most demanding position on the field and I don’t think it would be wise to put a ‘busted’ player in such a crucial role.

I know this sounds mad and most won’t agree with me, but I would try Brooks at dummy half - he is younger, stronger, faster and fitter than Reynolds, he reads the game just as well and he has the right body type for the role also. I reckon he would be a revelation at hooker, his speed out of dummy half would awesome! That way Reynolds could play in his familiar position at 5/8 with Benji at half where I think both are more suitable and effective.

In any case, didn’t we buy Walters to play hooker?

I like it. I’d also prefer Reynolds at 6 but it’s not going to happen. Him at 9 is definitely worth a shot imo. Or Benji - what’s wrong with Marshall in the middle and Josh at 5/8? At least Benji’s passes won’t hit the grandstand from infield. It’s all a little deckchair shuffling I suppose.

Broncos management will be rubbing their hands together. This is perfect for them really. His asking price - or maybe not asking price, but his negotiating power has just fallen somewhat and they get to be the carer in difficult times. Mum will be forever greatfull to them.

Yeah, money talks in the halls of power, so I reckon that through the rich benefactors at the donkeys, he is getting the type of diplomatic assistance that the rest of us can only dream of.

Me thinks he’s offered a substantial payout to the victim in order to secure his freedom. Win/win for both. Let’s say a weeks wages for the thug a lifetime of income for the victim. And the broncos say next ti zilch. Nothing to see here. It couldn’t have been too bad if Fifita can’t remember 🙄. NRL won’t act too harshly either probably.

Supporters say we need to go after well know first grade talent yet when we are rumored to be signing Mitchell they say this is utter rubbish and can’t spend that much of a player of his caliber.

It’s only hypocritical if it’s the same people… I see this comparison often from.some, yet I never see actual quotes… It’s just generalising

It’s not hypercritical even if it is the same people, it’s ok to want established stars but disagree on a salary point!

I for one though would be very happy if we get Latrell, just don’t think people are being hypercritical if they disagree.

You don’t get stars for nuffie prices… He is top level and will command top dollar… He is worth whatever the market is willing to pay… Taking assumed salaries from the media as gospel is foolish

I agree with you, but that doesn’t make those that disagree hypercritical.

I’m not sure, but I think ink was saying that some are being a little self righteous in their criticism (hypo) rather than overly critical (hyper)
