I cant say that I’ve really noticed it. But, it might be an old Tedseco thing. Every time he done a knee he had the long studs. Apparently he was told when his leg was put under pressure in an awkward spot that pressure had to go out somewhere. With the shorter studs it would result in slipping over but with the longer studs digging deeper into the ground, his foot was anchored and the pressure would go out through the knee. He made a decision at the time to abandon the screw ins. Wonder if his teammates followed his lead and over time it became a tigers thing to stick with the moulded studs.
