We are also losing a lot of experience next year especially in the forwards and we need a forward leader. Proctor could be mainly as someone to help lead the boys, maybe be in the leadership group and help drive the culture change more than anything.
Upgrade on Lawrence and could be the experienced forward we will need for next season. As long as it’s the right price it’s okay
what about John Asiata, ability to ball-play at the line will be an advantage
Not writing 2020 off by any stretch, but with the additions of Blore, Stefano and Kepaoa, next seasons lineup has some size about it:
3 Joey Leilua
4 Talau/ Mbye
Great looking team but we need better than Doueihi at full back and better than Reynolds at 5/8.
Kepaoa is wasted on the wing. Move him into the centres to replace Leilua.
Josh Rizk also into the mix perhaps onto the wing. If Saab is coming well that starts to make things interesting.
Add William Kei
This talk of Saab being a dud is absolutely ludicrous. A 19 year old kid, with 6 career games playing in a lackluster side…
For sometime now it’s been very clear what we need most is a winger with size and speed. Saab fits the bill just as good as any.
With some solid coaching Saab will flourish into a Daniel Tupou like player over the next few years.
I hope you’re right and having seen his defence he’s going to need it. There’s more to wing than just size. Not saying he can’t develop but at 20 years of age (he is almost 20), you should have worked most of those things out by then. If we do get him, then let’s hope Madge can turn him into a Tupou - that would be wonderful.
Look at Luciano who could be in the running for rep selection. You need to look more deeply than what he is displaying now. Get him in a tough environment where he needs to work hard. Think of basic training in the armed forces.
Yes agree but given our record signing people who are prone to getting out of their contracts early in the past (when we didn’t want them to - it seems he has been trying to get out of his?) and the fact that St George aren’t pushing him for first grade, I can’t really say this gives me great confidence that he is up for the hard work. His highlights are ok but there certainly isn’t any of his defence.
If we sign him, would love him to prove me wrong and I hope he does. Will be first to admit I made the wrong call.
I’d say Illawarra wouldn’t use an NRL opportunity on a player potentially leaving. Illawarra have the Fergai bros (both Aus School reps) and the young speedster from Molong, Cody. Ramsay to develop.
MAT FEAGAI & MAX FEAGAI are both off contract going by zero tackle.
This is one of the Broncos we should sign, fullback Reece Walsh. Keera Park, Aus Schoolboys, Qld Under Age.
Brendan Piakura, second row, Keera, Sus Schoolboys is the other player from the Broncos we should sign.
Nine NRL clubs are fighting for the signature of Brisbane Broncos teen sensation Brendan Piakura, according to The Sunday Telegraph.
Piakura is under contract at Broncos until the end of 2021, but rival clubs can make a formal approach to the teenager from November 1.
The 18-year-old’s future at the Broncos could way up on the potential departure of David Fifita, who has been linked to a move to the Gold Coast Titans.
If the backrower decides to leave Red Hill, it will pave a way for Piakura to claim a starting spot in the Broncos back row, which could be pivotal in his decision on his future.
Piakura is considered a future Queensland State of Origin star after he ran almost 100m in the backrow and made 25 tackles for Queensland in a 34-12 win over NSW under-18s last year.
Besides, there is no one better on the market worth going after. Better off just sticking to the succession plan of giving Brooks another year at halfback with Reynolds and Madden a full season of playing 80 each week leading the Canterbury Cup side around and then make a decision on who leads the team around for the 2022 season.
