Eels do not accept the terms of the deal…interesting.

I wonder if it’s the same terms that we got?

Would love to know if we got a better deal then the Eels rejected or if we are getting shafted. Does anyone know?

There would be heaps better options than Griffin. I get that people feel sorry for him, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he would be a solution to our problems. If we’re smart, we should come out of this with the cash to attract coaches like Seibold, Bennett and Maguire.

I think you are right. I say Seibold and Bennett would never come to the Tigers with our current roster. I actually think these two will swap jobs next year.

Maguire could possibly come to the Tigers and would be a good option. Still think their may be more attractive jobs for him out their than us.

Loving this Griffin interview. He is giving it to Gus without being rude.

TV GOLD.

Watching this I think Anthony Griffin would be a good coach for the Tigers.

He could re-build the team, problem is we probably have too many players he doesn’t rate on big coin and long term deals.

I have mentioned many times that TPA’s are a Salary Cap rort and all should go except for the absolute genuine ones around that you can see (eg Billy Slater and Powerade TV ads) which would be decided purely as legitimate or not by the NRL. Most TPA’s in reality have been worked out by the club and their is little if any work done by the player to receive them.

Anyone that thinks the Salary Cap is working currently is living in fantasy land. The Roosters have signed Cronk and Tedesco for this year, upgraded a lot of their current players contacts and are reported to have another $1 million to spend. My mail is that they will also sign Angus Crichton for 2019.

I think the NRL should tell the Players Association we are now the sole judge on TPA’s and only ones that meet stringent vetting will be accepted.

I have seen it reported (I think in the SMH) that funding is being given to 5 clubs for the building of centre of excellence facilities, being: Souths, Canterbury, Roosters, Cronulla and Newcastle.

It is a worry that their is no mention of funding for the Wests Tigers.

I hope it was an oversight and we are getting funding as well.

Our facilities are already well below some of the clubs getting the new funding.

Silly question perhaps … would Nike’s payment to Teddy be classed as a TPA ?

No Club gear…Players are allowed to use their own intellectual property to earn whatever they can outside of the Salary Cap…

This is the perfect example of how Non-Club affiliated Third Party Agreement should work…

This Nike ad and Billy Slaters Powerade and Banana ad are perfect examples of how a TPA should work. Players get the ad because of who they are not what team they play for.

Most TPA’s are dodgy arnd players only get because they play for a certain team. The NRL should only register TPA’s like the Teddy Nike ad and the Slaters ads the rest should be ruled invalid (the NRL don’t have the guts to do it as the clubs that rort TPA’s (eg Broncos, Chooks, Cowboys etc)would have a massive sulk).

How do you know these adds were not organised through the clubs? Id say its very possible that they were. Most people are not trustworthy.

Maybe they are but at least you can see an ad on TV and the player appearing to be earning a TPA. Most TPA’s registered no one knows about and the players do SFA to get the money apart from play for a certain team.

My mail has Webster and his assistants coaching/running the team still. Cleary is there in an over-sight/mentoring capacity and hasnt done much with the current team.

His focus is on building towards ‘next year’, so its clear he will fit in at Tigerland!

Doesn’t make any sense to me. Surely Clearly would want to be coaching the current players to get better, especially the ones that will be with us in the coming years.

You would think Cleary would be working hard with the team and looking to improve the games of Brooks, Suli, Liddle etc all that have long term futures at the club.

I know that in some world football clubs the manager is only the over seerer and the work is done by the assistant coaches but I don’t think Cleary would want that to occur unless he had handpicked his own coaching staff in full.
