Interesting read including what dad and Latrell think about Maguire
After reading that story I’m glad he’s gone to the crap hole club he belongs at.
I’ll leave it at that so I don’t get booted off the forum.
Who would of thought that the Roosters showed our club some respect and help in the LM saga ! Unlike that low rent club at Redfern …especially when there greatest ever signing was not pulled into line basically intimating OUR club is garbage and would of been one of his greatest mistakes he could of made !
Lets hope the players at our club do not forget what was said and how low and insignificant that the club at Redfern think there talent and the jersey the wear actual is !
It was an unnecessary swipe at our club and I have lost all respect for the guy because of it. Why not just have some humility and thank our club for the generous offer, and then say you signed with Souths because that’s where your heart lies or whatever. There was no need for him to disparage the club who were keen to have him and offered him everything he wanted. It was disappointing enough for us to have missed out again, there was no need to rub our noses in it. That’s just total disrespect, imo. I hope we don’t even entertain the thought of ever pursuing this guy again.
I think LMs choice of words weren’t great when describing the WTs offer and I don’t think he meant it the way we all took it. We need to understand that he probably isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and he should just stick to a very scripted press conference. The guy needs an army of imbeciles to help him make a decision and the best reason they could come up with for the delay in his decision was ‘I was on holidays’. Yeah right.
@Glenn5150 said in Latrell Mitchell Contract Discussion:
Opinions to NRL players from two unhappy recent ex-Wests tigers together with some South Sydney players who had been coached by Madge may have had a lot to do with West Tigers recent unfair reputation.
Not having a crack at you Newtown but what do all those saying “we can’t attract players because Madge is too tough” suggest?
The day the club replaces a coach because he was “too tough “ on players is the day the club signs up for another decade of poor performance and my last day as a supporter
Yep agree. Our club culture has been terrible over the past 10 years when it comes to training hard and its been reflected in our results. Screw anyone that doesn’t want to play under Madge. He is the one to lead us to greener pastures and we bend over to nobody anymore. I don’t care if we take chances on juniors with potential or ESL players with promise. I want WTs to become the team that clubs fear and feel the pain after playing us. I’m over this souths indigenous club rubbish too. There are indigenous players throughout the NRL that couldnt care less about Redfern. It’s all rubbish from his family that want free tickets to souths games. Spare me the whole ‘it’s not about money’ as well. He’ll collect in the end and we all know it.
Haha another week written off nice and early.
Who seriously tweets the CEO about signings? Haven’t they got something better to do?
Or like the CEO is going to drop recruitment news on a reply tweet to Mr Randomsupporter
I actually think Pascoe is vocal most of the time regarding signings and who we are chasing. A lot has been said about the fact Pascoe could be keeping his cards close to his chest and there must be A class signings yet to be announced etc etc. But really, if you look at where we are currently, it supports everything he’s said. We made play for LM (withdrew our offer and did not engage further) and missed out, we are interested in JAC and he’s been honest about the positions on the field the club needs to strengthen. I’d doubt there will any surprise signings this season that we haven’t already spoken about.
AD from souths would be great for us. You only have a small window of opportunity in the NRL and you can’t sit back and wait for LM to fail. AD would be stupid if he chose to play understudy for LM. The 2nd year option for Souths regarding LM is a farce and the only way the NRL could turn a blind eye to the dodgy deal. LM will be at souths for at least the next 4 years.
We have all the money but no one wants to come here.
I think we should temper this summation. There were very few off contract players this off season, the majority of players prefer to stay with their current club plus the Tigers need to be selective about their signings, not just grab anyone. Ever the optimist, I think our opportunities will come. We just need to be patient.
Fair, and it’s 100% frustration from my end.
But after Matterson (and letting go of Esan) we really needed a win, and so far it’s been disappointing. Luciano is a good signing don’t get me wrong, but we lack a game breaker and I was hoping we’d get one this off-season.
Still plenty of time to go.
Letting go of Esan was a win. He was lazy and useless all year.
Agreed, Esan was bog average last year. However, knowing our luck, he’ll kill this year and we will look stupid and come out of this looking weaker.
It appears Madge has not turned out to be our saviour , Bennett and him signed at the same time look what we have got compared to what the bunnies have signed. Maybe Madge is on the nose.
You can’t blame this on Madge. The bunnies are obviously a stronger and more appealing club to him. NRL players want to win premierships and we haven’t come close in the last 10 years. Our rep won’t change overnight or with 1 respectable coach. Making the 8 this year and every year on is imperative for us to be considered appealing and even then you won’t always land who you want.
Pretty Sure Geyer was told to go out there and be the thug and put QLD off their game. He did what he was told, coped a suspension and I don’t think he played for the blues again. He mentioned it a couple of times on the grill team and how he thought he got shafted by the coaches.
