@Geo said in David Nofoaluma re-signs until 2025..:

TRY causes stat gets brought up in relation to singling out players…individually…

When you look at it from a team and number of games interestingly can give you a better perspective…

For example Melbourne Storm conceded 53 TRYs in the season of which TRY causes attributed to the back 3 were 34 or 64% of TRIES scored against, Rorters had 55 of which 37 or 67% against WESTS Tigers had 98 of which 49 or 50% attributed to the back 3…

Good one

Sprint at the end of the 1986 state titles

Damian Dixon
Happy Tiger
Steve Renouf

Damian Dixon was a pretty good sprinter , used to run against him in my teens at aged group Titles …I wasn’t at his level …pretty sure he finished 2nd to Damian Marsh in the mid 90’s at a National Title

He was infamous for having his jaw broken by Colin Scott …Scott got 18 months and retired afterwards

Are you Tonya Harding ?

Are you Jane Torvill ??

So who’s Christopher Deane

Nick Politis came out today saying rumours of Marshall signing with them were unfounded. Said they were happy with their halves options.

You would think that Benji would take a hint and retire as it looks like no club wants him.

I said this last year that he needs to retire and enjoy a big send off that the club would of gave him… He will regret it and miss the send off he deserved… Ego gets in his way

I don’t think it’s an ego thing. He wants to play because he wants to play, it’s not about ego. He doesn’t seem surprised about not having offers and has actually turned a few down. I think he’s just looking for an opportunity that suits him. Also, he wanted to keep playing for us, and I don’t think there was any ego in his final game for us when he made the game about Lawrence at the end. Benji was a flamboyant player, but he was also a great clubman for the Tigers. I think his desire to play on isn’t an ego thing, it’s just wanting to play footy while he can. If it was about money he’d have gone to England, if it was about ego he’d probably pursue a media career where I’m sure he’d be a big attraction, his playing on in the NRL, even accepting a squad role, is about the most humble thing he can do. Why does Benji cop it? And ‘legacy’ stuff is something fans and commentators dribble on about, I reckon Benji plays because he loves it.

Great post mate

Good points but benji comments end of this season showed there is still elements of ego there playing for the tigers.

If tigers are to ever change benji cannot be in the wests tigers squad I’m certain of that.

Given how much he takes over a team when his playing I’m not sure which club would suit him for the benefit of one season.

Sometimes you just have to know when it’s finished.

If grant didn’t pass him the ball all the time…

Not saying we would should sign him, just that you can see he just wants to play. In all honesty it’s heartbreaking to see as he deserves a far better ending. (To state the obvious he and the club have parts to play in this ending).

who the hell started this JTJ thing? It’s the most stupid thing ever.

Jack Gibson, when he said he was that quick, he could turn the bedroom light off and be in bed before it got dark😂😂😂

That was ET – ANDREW Ettinghousen at Cronulla

I know, but it’s to good a quote to let it die out.
JTJ probably wasn’t born when he said it😁😁

Considering Gibson stole that one from Ali, I don’t think you can be accused of stealing it from Gibson lol

Yes, I do recall him saying it now you mention it, but wouldn’t have if you hadn’t, still a great line to describe someone who is quick.

When we were kings is a great doco.

Might sound stupid but who is JTJ?

Jimmy The Jet.

May as well just call him The Concorde since he trains there now…

The Concorde crashed and burned on take off. Let’s stick to Jimmy the Jet.

Seriously though, I hope he has a stunning year and becomes the role model he should be for indigenous kids everywhere. He’s had issues, but he seems pretty honest about where he is and where he has been. That takes a big man.

What’s wrong with that 17 ? It’s pretty close to the one I’d pick . Blore /Garner , cheekam / Simpkins . That’s about it . Depends on your perspective .

It’s pretty close but glaring errors as you say. Musgrave doesn’t even get a gig? Liddle isn’t going to play 80 first up, garner starts and blore benched? MCK may get that utility spot, hope not.

Backs look on the money though.

As long as he’s not ‘built like Tarzan: plays like Jane’.
He needs to produce this year, last season was very disappointing after a great 2019 from him.

Serious? He was injured a fair bit of the season.

Apart from his injuries, when he was on the park he didn’t seem a shadow of the 2019 version.
Hopefully he has a huge year this year.

He started 2020 on fire, they were talking about him being a smokey for the Blues 13. He injured his sternum and really struggled to reclaim that form, didn’t help that they rushed him back and he reinjured it in the first game plus had knee issues. He will be back to his best this year. Our forwards are going to belt people.

Can confirm, sternum injuries are something else…I’m not surprised he had a below par 2020

As can I. Mine was sawn open 26 years ago and it still troubles me.

Yup, smashed mine tackling someone, we both got carted off. Its never been the same since.
