Tedesco claimed he had not made up his mind on leaving the Tigers until new coach Ivan Cleary imposed a deadline for his decision last month, ultimately withdrawing the club’s offer after Tedesco and his management did not respond.

Not sure why this bit is news, but pretty sure his mind was made up well before Cleary. Obviously as he has stated here, Mini has been a big influence and “I was a fan of the Roosters” etc. Maybe it wasn’t made up completely, but surely, if you wanted to stay at the Tigers, then there would have been more indicators that was going to happen……there wasn’t.

The superstar fullback also said he had not seen an official offer from the Tigers until one month ago, right in the middle of former coach Jason Taylor’s sacking. > He ultimately signed a four-year deal with the Roosters for less money than offered by his junior club.

yeah I doubt that very much tbh, given that the club had contacted Teddy at the end of last year when the club approached him about the contract, only to be told that he didn’t want to talk contract until he had changed his manager.

Speaking on C91.3 Radio, Tedesco was asked if still could have chosen the Tigers had the deadline not been imposed and said: “Possibly.

lol so he still would have strung the club along a bit further then? what until all other replacements were taken?

“We needed more time and they needed the decision quickly. There was a lot of stuff happening. Ivan just came to the club, I didn’t know how he was as a coach.

“I think he’s been great, personally, as a coach. We’ve had some really strong results with him. But it’s just disappointing to have that put on us. That’s the way they wanted to do it and we can’t do much about it now.

bit of a contradiction there from the first paragraph, didn’t know how he was as a coach and then…

and seriously, you’ve had months to decide, hardly a quick decision if it came down to the coach how much longer would it have taken?

“He [Cleary] was pretty adamant that he wanted an answer but the end of the week and that’s why they put the deadline out. They made it public, too, which was a bit … we didn’t really think there was a need for that, because it would just play out more in the media.

the whole thing has been played out in the media or did you miss Woods doing the rounds?

Regarding about an actual official offer being presented (paragraph 3) I recall Woods said the same thing - on the table for a month from around the time Taylor got punted.
Everybody is assuming they had firm offers for ever and a day - I doubt we’ll ever know the real truth behind the whole fiasco.

As Girdler said last night on MMM,even though Teddy says he had only been given a ‘live’ contract on March 31, he would have been given multiple ‘letters of offer’ from last year, which are more or less the same thing. So saying “I was only given a live contract at the end of March” is a very poor excuse.

Ginaine and Girdler then went on how poor Woods and Teddy have looked throughout this contract process.

Thought it was good to see some media stating what we’re all saying.

If we’re offering $800K to Fergo, I would rather give it to someone like Dugan. He couldn’t command anymore than $800K and is a first choice fullback.

Some have shot it down before stating we need a ball playing fullback… Well Fergo isn’t a fullback, let alone a ball playing fullback.

Can’t you play for tier 2 and SOO now?

Yes in a World Cup year…

Would that also remove McQuire and Milford from QLD selection?

You can play for tier 2 Countries in a World Cup year if not selected for Australia and still play Origin…

Fifita was selected for Tonga until Mal needed him due to injury…He will be one of the first selected for NSW…

McGuire will be picked for QLD…I would think…

That’s what I thought. The eligibility rules are all over the place it seems to me.

Thanks for clearing that up.

it would be good for everyone to stay around and watch them do the lap… Just look at them, no booing, complete silence…. Like its a funeral like atmosphere… I reckon that would hit hard…

Agreed. Everyone should also turn their backs to them as they begin their walk of shame. Maybe toss in afew full moons too.

Wonder if Woods will be on.

Reckon we might find an unlikely ally in James Graham on the issue. Reckon he’d be disappointed with Woods efforts and comments.

Want me to send one through for James Graham?

How does Graham feel about what Woods did with Sunday interview? Both club captains

Lol. Being the captain of a proud club with a passionate fan base, would you (Graham) ever drag your club through the mud in interviews with a turd dressed in a suit posing as a journo? How much $$ would it take?

Sent them through guys keep them coming. Obviously post them yourself if possible lol but if you don’t have Twitter I’m happy to do it

I don’t have the Twitter so if you could post my question, I would appreciate it.

I think Woods might be trying to hide under the desk on NRL360 tonight lol

My 2 cents.

At the moment with the state of the team and the position we are going to be in Reynolds hands down.
He is an out and out five eight. A runner first, reacting to the defence, doesn’t throw a slick ball in a sweeping play but he does get his arms free to link up with his centre or backrower (Jackson). In addition to this, Brooks is an out and out halfback, he will not is yet but he will be a great organiser / game manager half and already has good kicking skill. (In game application needs work).
Reynolds will help mild our team into a consistent finals side.
However.
Once that time comes. The player you want once you become a consistent contender is actually someone like Mitchell Moses. I truely believe that he has more X factor in him and will be a key to a team winning a comp.
As I said at this stage we need a Reynolds type more.

I understand what your trying to say but I have to disagree with you. When I think of Reynolds going into a GF/finals game I would want him over Moses (even considering X factor) for two reasons.

1. The passion he plays with each and every week would only be heightened coming so close to realising his dream of winning a GF.

2. Losing two GFs with Canterbury, I can’t help but think he would want to win one not only to be remembered for winning a GF but also to show his former club they bet on the wrong horse by letting him go.

That’s why I would want Reynolds leading out my WTs; Finals and Grand Finals included.

Regarding the Woods contract saga, the media had been reporting for months that he had a contract offer from WT since Dec 2016, yet Woods claims in his interview this past Sunday that he only had his first offer put foward on 31st March.

Who is lying, the media or Woods?

  • hopefully Woods is there when he answers the questions, cause he’ll only give 1 answer and it won’t be in favour of Woods.

Signed today I was told.

No cooling off, should be announced mid next week

Not everyone is as passionate as Nofa

I doubt many if any would waive COPs

Josh Reynolds…?

Did he ? I seriously asked myself that question

Then in my mind i replied that it was just done the right way without any dramas and no one let the cat out of the bag. Unlike the dramas Woods, Tedesco and Moses caused (So far)

I havent read anywhere officially JR waived the COP
I know Nofa did but correct me if im wrong

To me the Reynolds negotiation and signing was handled professionally

From what I understood he waived the CoP as he knew the WT offer was best for him but didn’t want to reneg on the deal due to his love for Caterbury.
