Guess who just brought Mcguines into their fantasy team.
First Teddy gets withdrawn and my back up fullback has already played, now Mcguines goes off after scoring 9 points.
And here I was thinking this was going to be my best week.
Everyone screams for the NRL to be consistent. At the time I did not agree with the Craig Smith penalty try in the Melbourne v Saints grand final, but it was given.
MCK may not of dropped the ball outright when hit but he was stunned, bobbled it, and did not have hold of it when Kahu slapped it out.
I would have been filthy if it was given against us, but would not have been able to come up with an argument why it should not have been a penalty try without reverting to Phil Gould like, “I am an Alien”, drivel.
He didnt bobble it and he did have hold of it when it was stripped, don’t know what you were watching.
If the strip doesn’t happen he scores.
Did MCK go off for HIA after scoring? If yes that shows you the impact of the high shot.
Hahaaaa nope, lots of times players go off for HIAs so the team can get a free interchange, especially when a penalty is given because it justifies their decision to do a HIA.
You can’t tell me that players aren’t being taken off when they don’t really need to be.
A clear penalty try. No doubt about it. He was about an inch from the line, got smacked in the jaw and while falling over the line and hence lost control of the ball. If he was 5m away the cover defence may have got there in time but he was already over the line…
He didn’t lose control of the ball from the high shot, he had the ball striped while trying to ground it.
No penalty try imo.
The shot made first contact with the ball and reflected up, it did connect high after that but with minimal force not enough to prevent him from scoring, it didn’t cause the ball to dislodge and he had every opportunity to still ground the ball.
It was the strip that stopped the try and the strip would have happened regardless of the high shot.
But… a Tigers player grounded the ball after that anyway, so it should have been a try just not a penalty try.
We would have been going off if the shoe was on the other foot.
(I also think Masters got a pinky to the ball for the other try)
Green has every right to be filthy, Cowboys have got some stinkers of calls over the years.
Yep ever since his Kiwi mate got dropped he’s pulled his finger out, funny how now his name has been on the shopping list he’s started to have a go.
He’ll go back to idle mode soon though, he’s one of those players that just cruises through games, he doesn’t have any gears.
Just once I want to see him fire up and run like a raging lunatic.
Thomo will be fine just needs to fix up a few things, he hasn’t played many on the trot at the back.
Let’s judge him in 6 weeks after he’s had a decent run of games there, he’s much more of a threat than Mbye was, gets more involved and him and Benji seem to have a thing developing.
