RE: "Best" team selections are useless
I think the original post is absolute nonsense.
Teams play well when their 17 players are confident and comfortable with each other, when they trust and know the person inside them and outsides style of play. The longer the squad stays together and the more games they win or play well in, the more the confidence in each other grows and it shouldn’t matter who you play or how THEY play it 's all about how YOU play.
Trying to chop and change players according to who or how your opposition plays makes no sense and just disrupts the way you play.
RE: RLW - Farah Shock: Why I almost quit the Tigers
The fact he felt the Tigers were going backwards has to be of some concern.
RE: Today proved one thing
So what do we do check to see what the temp is gonna be and if it’s too hot for the Tigers put our money on the other team. Some of the pathetic excuses that people come up with. Too hot, Too cold, Too wet, Sheens playing people out of position, our bench, such and such a player was out,etc etc.
How about this for a reason we rarely play for 80 mins we play good in patches usually when we control the ball and dominate possession for long periods and hopefully when we do dominate possession we score a few points which usually wins us the game or at least makes the scoreboard look like it was a close game when in actual fact we were ordinary for most part.
Teams know if they can weather the storm without leaking too many points then the points will come there way when momentum swings.
Like gus said it looks like we only want to play when we have the ball and things are going our way.
RE: Benji - The Messiah
What was with Benjis pass to Moltzen before he threw it to Heigno (who wasn’t expecting it) to drop, that was the worst piece of football i have ever seen in an any age in my entire life, local under sevens do better than that and i blame Benji for it, he went to dummy half and almost handed the ball to Moltzen who just shouldn’t of got it at all they were standing still right next to each other embarrassing stuff. I don’t think any other team is capable of doing some of the things we do.
RE: We are gonna lose lui, lazarus, moltzen or mullayney
Lazarus and Mullaney imo. Moltzen is a damn good five-eighth and his value to this team isn’t as great as his market value. Imagine what a team like Penrith, NZ or North QLD would give for Tim Moltzen? When the time comes I can’t see him being worth that much to us. Lui can be turned into a damn fine lock ala Feleti Mateo but we don’t really require that and with our backrow stocks at an all time high and Lazarus and Marshall in the halves Lui will probably go elsewhere when his true market value is assessed in the future. Lazarus simply is our halfback solution. I have a bad feeling Mullaney isn’t going to make the grade and I don’t think Arana Taumata will be at WT in 2011 though I feel we will nurture him back into first grade and make him a valuable product for another club. I think he’ll go back to Canterbury.
Lui a lock are you drunk? locks need to be the best defender on the park which is probably Luis weakest attribute. Besides he has way too many valuable ball skills to waste at lock.
