WestsTigers: Strength in all we do. (Maybe one day)
I smell a Rat, I believe Josh Aloia is loyal, maybe he didn’t like the way we let Thompson, Benji and Sam McIntyre go and I’m pretty sure ET and Matt Eisenhuth were his mates. Hard to say. I’ve chatted to JA and he seems to be a really nice guy with strong religious beliefs, I think there’s more to it than money, but as they say money talks and players walk. I’ll miss the big guy. The only upside to all this is we picked up a handy forward from the ponies and we got some cash back from manly. I hope that our coach can unify our team in 2021 by playing hard ball with the players but throw in regular team bonding stuff that gets everyone laughing and enjoying training thus building a tight unit.
Totally off the Mark mate. I know for a fact it was all about the dollars. And the 24 hour talk was absolute garbage. He had an offer sitting for 2 weeks. He wanted crazy money and we don’t play that game any more.
Welcome to the mighty WT Joe. Hope to see him rekindle his pre 2019 form and play a role in us having a pack that consistently goes forward. Savvy piece of work from the club given the Broncos will be chipping in.
As for JA, being a footnote is a fitting end given the way he is exiting the club.
I was once told - always leave how you want to be remembered. JA undid a lot of good work in this last month. He is an immature man.
Penrith’s COE cost about 22 million, Raiders new COE cost about 20. 42 or whatever it is for us buys us a facility that will surpass every other NRL club. Make no mistake, with a changing culture and improving playing roster, this facility will help attract players to the club, and benefit the juniors coming through.
How much of the total cost is the COE? The COE is only a part of the development.
Not sure - the article is a bit misleading as it says 75 mil, and then 42 mil on the COE…IF that is the case we’ve done extremely well but from all reports when this is finished, we will have the best facilities in the NRL.
Yeah, the numbers seem to change with every article. Freo got a $109m facility built that opened in 2017, best in the country supposedly. Since then they’ve come 14th,14th,13th,12th.
They have a culture problem that a gym couldn’t change.
On the point you make about Freo, you also have to look at the way we’ve recruited some top junior talent recently - I think our pathways program should be effective, there’s some good local talent coming through, but we’ve also done exceptionally well signing some top kiwi talent whilst sneaking under the noses of some other NRL clubs in poaching talent. Not all will play FG obviously, but I think there’s enough there so see our juniors will perform strongly and we’re in good hands.
I certainly hope so, I’m optimistic that the football/ recruitment team that has been put together is quality.
I rate the guys we have in those roles.
Yeah, but you rate the barber
Cutting comment that one!
