A number of sad-sack self-sorry members on here today.

Don’t really care if Latrell didn’t sign on and nothing I can do about it anyway if I did care.

I don’t think it reflects badly on Tigers at all, just that this player valued other things apart from just salary, things that it appears Tigers couldn’t supply. Well actually, not appears, because it came from Latrell’s mouth today, even if lip service, about indigenous history, his Dad’s club, Bennett etc.

As far as I am aware, only two blokes have ever been offered a million bucks by WT - Latrell and Tedesco. They are not typical situations and the outcome doesn’t necessarily reflect your typical player or the club as a whole. Two isn’t a trend.

So what is the trend? You are an analyst. What is the most dominant WestsTigers trend. What does the data say? Can you provide the most relevant statistic in relation to WestsTigers performance. I’ll tell you - we miss opportunity every time. Now this is a qualitative response based on observation. I have no inclination to provide a quantitative summary.
So I’m a sad sack- no doubt. Based on the trend of losing every clutch moment. I’d love to be a happy sack!!

Opinions to NRL players from two unhappy recent ex-Wests tigers together with some South Sydney players who had been coached by Madge may have had a lot to do with West Tigers recent unfair reputation.

Not having a crack at you Newtown but what do all those saying “we can’t attract players because Madge is too tough” suggest?

The day the club replaces a coach because he was “too tough “ on players is the day the club signs up for another decade of poor performance and my last day as a supporter

Souths did just that …
Sacked Maguire for Seibold !

They sacked him after 6 successful years which included a premiership. Form dropped, I could excuse that.

I hate to admit this but I’m related to a current Souths player and I asked him about Madge when he signed for the Tigers. He was full of praise and denied he was too hard. I can tell you the whole sorry saga surrounding his sacking, or rather the rise of Seibold if you’re interested.

I’ve always been intrigued by his departure mate, please PM if you can with the story.

I’ll change the names to protect the innocent…
Once upon a time, not long after a new assistant coach started work at the Storm, another assistant who had been there for a while felt he was a bit on the outer, with the new guy scoring lots of points with the boss. So the old assistant decided to apply for a vacant NRL head coaching job and promptly won a premiership. His mate from the Storm, being a first class opportunist, saw an opportunity and joined the premiership winners, only to immediately start white-anting the head coach. This is where the rumours of the old coach being a hard task master started. The new guy had new ideas and a couple of degrees and could move the club forward with a more modern approach. He charmed the players and gradually turned them against the old coach. The board were also mesmerised and decided the assistant was the future, sacking the coach who had won them a long awaited premiership. A few months into the next season, the opportunist, who by now was beginning to resemble a snake, became aware that another long serving coach at his dream club was on the outer and began concocting a scheme to slither in to replace him, despite him being contracted for another season. The idea of a swap was devised by his management team, however there was a stumbling block. The snake by now was losing the confidence of his own players and the assistant coach, let’s call him DF, was by far more popular with the playing group. Rather than a swap for another coach, the players would prefer to keep DF as their head coach. This put the deal in jeopardy so the snake encouraged DF to take a head coaching job in the ESL to remove any obstacles. The players were filthy once the swap became a done deal, not because they were upset about getting a master coach but they realised they had just been used as just a rung in the ladder for the ultra ambitious snake. The news soon made it north and the result is there for all to see.

Thanks! I heard him talking to media about a concept: forming, storming, norming, performing. He carried on like he was a genius and the media, as ignorant as they are, went along with him. This concept is ridiculously simplistic - it relates to group management through a period of change. It’s change management 101 but he carried in like he’d just split the atom. I immediately thought he was a fake. His last season confirmed it. Your story cements it

Players HATE him.

Yep. Can see why. Remember he threw his players under the bus earlier last season? Grub.

This club has literally survived setting itself on fire multiple times, now a handful of people want an amputation after stubbing their toe.

Seriously, this is only painful because a vocal few can’t get over it. What did you do to survive the merger, Craig Field and McGuinnes, Hoppa and Lamb, Prince leaving, Lui, tiger sharks, etc… I’m only up to 2012.

If you’re that sick of it find a new hobby, come back in March. You should really aim higher than being miserable all the time.

The signings you make and shouldn’t have (Blair, Ballin, Cleary’s crew for the money we paid) are what wrecks your cap. The signings you wish you made and didn’t, imo, at the very least don’t stuff up your future recruitment.

Finally, people who are all doom and gloom should look up self fulfilling prophecies. In any business it is very easy to create an aura based purely on unreasonable expectations, be they positive or negative. The more posts in the media, including social media, the more you add to the perceptions out there that "the tigers suck ". In my opinion we have over achieved to finish 9th and I wish I enjoyed that more about last season instead of being so bothered by the seasons prior. Even the fans don’t believe, how are we meant to convince anyone else? What’s more, when the club leadership is positive they get mocked by the know-it-alls on here with less than no idea. All departments are improving, football will too.

If I’ve offended anybody I’ll just say this. I can’t wait until we succeed, I hope and believe it will be this year, otherwise why bother being here months before kick off.

Mate passion drives this forum. We are all ridiculously passionate about our team. This leads to emotional investment and emotional comments. I love your passion and how you express it. But you’ve articulated the problem. We go from mistake to mistake to mistake. It needs to change. We lose every clutch moment. You can list all the achievements - front office ok, great coach, COE - all good. But we still lose. Always. It needs to change. And as a passionate member and supporter I demand more. All emotional with best of intentions. But I’m sick of losing. Aren’t you?

Steve I’m sick of missing the finals, however we aren’t really losing 80% of the time or anything. We are often competitive and I look at our squad and think we go ok. I have been vocal about what I think we can fix, we need speed desperately. Despite being able to recognise and discuss shortcomings, I really don’t think missing out on LM is a big deal. He left the Roosters, he is hardly looking at the club’s prospects as part of his decision. This has been conveniently overlooked by many.

I’m also delighted we aren’t chasing a makeshift fullback. We have 2 already, specialists only or wait for the right opportunity. Everything is in the framing mate, as I’m sure you know as you are much more experienced with organisational change than I am.

The negativity is often justified, buit in this case it is creating a myth about the club that will make the future even worse.

I’m not talking about missing Mitchell. I actually think we may have dodged a bullet. I’m saying that no matter the challenge- we lose it. On field and off field. It’s becoming part of our DNA and it’s a real concern. I don’t think my criticism is unjustified- my point is there for all to see ( lost opportunity). Golden point losses to contract negotiations lost. Failure. I honestly think we need to fluke a big win and then ride it like crazy to change the mindsets if everyone associated with our great club.

Tigers actively looking for a top line centre as a point of need now (that’s from with-in the organisation) Content with forward pack.

Don’t believe you. Most of your other supposed inside info hasn’t eventuated.

Momo was a revelation at centre last year, and if you can believe Benji, Talau is the most exciting player at the club. Mbye is also strong at centre, so why do we need a centre as a priority?

Again have it all in written form. Can post pics if mods allow it

Oh so you are the smoking gun ? Said that you would post pics of mods allow it on that account. Hmm. Weird.

Madge - just block the fool. I have. Sadly quoted text still comes through.

Apologies

No worries! I have pills to stop me shaking😜

This is a massive loss for us and I believe will have a roll on affect re recruitment… People can put any spin on it they like but this is highly embarrassing for WTs

100%.

Let’s be clear - I love the Tigers. Doesn’t mean I can’t be fed up. The club keep saying failure is not an option but EVERY SINGLE TIME we have a moment that needs winning - we fail. On and off the field. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

We need a HUGE signing before season kicks off but I reckon there’s stuff all chance of that.
