If BJ doesn’t find form quick I’d probably switch him to lock especially with our centre stocks of momo, talau, Mbye, doueihi

Entitled to your opinion - but that is ridiculous.

He needs to lift, no better than RJ so far

@balmain-boy said in Wests Tigers Sign Shawn Blore:

We could have easily promoted a dev player at the deadline if we wanted to gnr. We targeted him, as he’s been viewed as a future rep player for years.
Panthers saying they released as another club offered him a long term deal. We signed him on an 18 month contract…
They offered him a longer deal and on decent money, he turned them down for us. Another Utoikamanu situation in a way. He didn’t feel wanted and disagreed with some things the panthers did. Quite possibly an option on a third year, either club or player option.

I also like that Madge is signing leaders. Not egotistical assholes. Good, honest hard working players with the right attitude. That’s how you build a club and a culture. Having players with the same values.
I see reckon Blore is a bigger version of ET that runs more like Luciano/Garner. A player with heart and courage, that defends hard but also runs hard. He’ll need time to build up strength and match fitness after his injury but will be pushing for a bench spot and then lock soon enough.

Absolutely spot on mate, future starting lock forsure .

Just over 3 weeks till the proposed restart and still no draw. Presuming all games are played out of NSW at one or two grounds. Why not make the draw a mystery. Teams don’t know who they’re playing till Monday. Why the hell not.

There’s no crowds or corporate sponsor boxes to consider, so yeah why not.

That would be very innovative, it would be a real drawcard. Imagine the fun the media outlets could have with that, drumming up more advertising, worth extra money in the agreement with them imo.

Only downside would be teams on Monday wouldn’t know if they have a 3 or 6 day prep. Everyone would be in the same boat. It would probably be a logistical nightmare, but it’s a great idea in theory.

Sorry, whats the upside? I dont get it.

Seriously, Todd was like a juggernaut… at weighing us down. Can definitely see something like this on the agenda soon, at least something that is purely for the fun of fans again and leaves players (love to play footy) sticking to playing - probable side effects: less scandals.

@Jay said in NRL axe the new "Simply the Best" advert...:

I loved the add at the start but I agree it’s not a good time to have a add saying ‘simply the best’ in this time while many people are questioning NRL special privileges, especially while some don’t follow the rules. Right call to can it.

There will always be a time when some don’t follow the rules, regardless of the particular rules. Greenberg defended the ad in the face of enormous criticism by stating he was aiming to show the NRL as an inclusive organisation. So what’s different now? Is inclusiveness still important to the NRL?

I don’t think they will use the song or slogan ‘Simply the best’ as it’s not great phrasing when they won’t want to seem like they have different rules to the rest of Australia. I could be wrong.

In this time, they need a campaign to focus on why it’s great to have sport again. There are many people out there on the fence on if NRL should be on or not

Nonsense. Song wasn’t the issue! Wow.

I thought it was the Chinese ambassador to Australia it that helps @cochise

He made ONE empty threat. Seems to be China’s paranoia coming to the fore… crazy irrational words

I’ll cut them some slack, personally - any that deserve and have earned the right to comment.

Anybody else; you’re doing great please keep up!

I’m not sure what your on about …they were asking about the article / story I was giving them who I thought it was and in what the comments were in relation to

You’re such a dull… I was talking about the Chinese commentator who said the remarks you and DaBoss loosely referred to, don’t get your knickers twisted.

I was referring to ambassador only, or other actual politicians. You’re doing great Hap.

Cant access article as its DT but apparently CFO Tony Crawford has quite following Toddles Resignation

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=DTWEB_WRE170_a_GGL&dest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailytelegraph.com.au%2Fsport%2Fnrl%2Fnrl-2020-cfo-tony-crawford-quits-following-todd-greenberg-resignation%2Fnews-story%2F34e67d3dc163a2218cc02fed6f2a0f06&memtype=anonymous&mode=premium&nk=341c8b7847d710190b2aef3e30ade60d-1588634398

Pure speculation but I think it makes sense that if as reported, when part of the reason Toddles was pushed was the missing money/players super/players fund etc that the guy responsible for looking after those finances fall on his sword as well.

Looks like V’landys is taking out the trash.

yep

i think if Vlandys is taking out the trash, you would assume Manly would be with that as well 😏 ?
