RE: Merry Christmas
Hope every Tiger has a Merry Christmas. I must be getting soft in my old age, even going to wish Parra, Manly, Cronulla, Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle, Cowboys and Souths fans a Merry Christmas.
I’m in lock down on the Northern Beaches. Haven’t left the area since last Thursday and cant make it back to the inner west for Christmas Day, but wont be too long before catching up with family again if things go ok. -

J Reynolds took two steps backwards. Madden and Walters each took one forward

RE: JAC
Don’t worry guys JAC is coming, just give it time
I’m sure things will progress a lot faster once the GF is all said and done
I’m trying not to get too emotional invested, to soften the blow if he signs elsewhere.
His speed and exciting natural playing abilities are what we are looking for in a post Benji WTs team. -

Chee-Kam and Thompson drop out of the 21
ABC Grandstand were making a huge deal about Thompson on the outer at the WT’s just before the Manly v Eels game
Slow news day.
Well … it was weird …Moore really rates him as did some fans from other clubs …and the WT’s fans were very split as well
It was never going to be easy to replace Teddy. Papenhuyzen had already gone to Melb. No juniors within the club were ready. Lolohea was not in condition for NRL. Corey did a great in giving us a competent option at fullback. Often he was one of our top three players and could find his way to the try line.
He is too good for State Cup. However, the fullback role is one of the most important positions on the field. You need a top tier player at fullback. I’d like Cory to continue to play for the WestsTigers but if Doueihi holds the fullback position Corey will be getting limited NRL time. I don’t think many WTs fans want Corey to go but would understand if he did. -
RE: Maguire Signs Until End of 2023
I met up with a mate (Sharks supporter) at the Occidental hotel (Near Wynyard) last night. He saw Buzz and Dean (Bulldog) Richie walk did. I said those guys are #%$^wits. I didn’t recognise Richie but Buzz’s ugly head is hard to forget. So I fronted him and told me what I thought of the bias he has in his reporting.

The top of any sport in Australia should be representing your country. Not playing again a crap suburb of Melbourne

RE: Relatives who support teams you hate
Great topic. I’ve got big family. unfortunately too many Parra and Roosters in it.
On the plus side, I have lived in Manly for over 20 years and raised a family there, despite growing up in enemy territory., all are Tigers.
We are sleeper cells. ready for the uprising when WTs take over the world.

Insideman has been very accurate with his information, choose to believe it or dont. I cant be bothered posting his scoops up here anymore, he has set up a twitter account InsideManNRL.
I never bother with twitter. Too many tools on it, one less now with Trump gone.
Hope Laurie comes early but I’m not holding my breath. -
RE: Wests Tigers Stat to Fix: Metres per carry
Madge wouldn’t have been happy with the middle last year in both defence and yardage gained. We seemed to be struggling to get into the oppositions half. When we did we didn’t have any trouble scoring points.
There has been quite a change in the engine room for the coming season. Tamou strength as a forward leader Is something we haven’t had for some time. I can see Joe O starting along side of him. If there are injuries or lack of form
, Musgrove and Twal are both starting forwards.I have no doubt 2021 will see a big improvement in meters gained. Hopefully we spend a lot less energy getting out of our own quarter.

Don’t be surprised if Allan Fitzgibbon gets a wing spot with Roberts as the centre.
Mate, you are seriously stepping on toes in this forum.Favourites trump speed, ability and youth. He will be howled down as too young, bad attitude, can’t tackle and has herpes .Momo,NOFA,MBYE,Douiohi, cannot fail. lol.
I love a bolter , many a first grade have seemingly (in the general publics view) come from nowhere.
Fitzgibbon seems to have his work cut out for him if he is going to make it. His first job would have to be to make the Top 30, wouldn’t it? -

Any idea if this forum has its own app or if there’s one in the works? Have recently noticed that a few clubs have their own forum app. Would make it much easier to log on and use
We did have an app for a few years.
Correct me if I’m wrong but if a platform like Instagram or Spotify are firstly designed to be an app they work well. If they are a website first then repurposed to be an app they are a punish to maintain and have limited functionality. The site works better (Unless you have unlimited tech Resources). -

I don’t think our rookies are the major concern in 2021 if we are to make the finals. I think we have 8-10 players at the cross roads in their careers and need to prove whether they are NRL standard. Guys like these,
Garner
Mikaele
Douehi
Musgrove
Roberts
Mbye
Talau
MCK
Twal
LiddleSome will no doubt have big years but we need most of them to go up a level.
Talau at a crossroads in his career?
Having only played 13 NRL games… Too early put Talau in the crossroads category.
Mbye, MCK, Roberts and Garner are definitely at the crossroads point in there careers. If they fail this year, I don’t think any club will be looking to recruit them. BJ and Packer as well. Packer might be on the other side of the crossroads.
Mikaele, Musgrove and Liddle are past rookie status but all under 25 But I agree still need to prove They are NRL players.

Can’t believe Brooks was given a 4 year contract, but then again he was halfback of the year the year prior so it is what it is. Poor kid has been stuffed around with no proper 5/8 or forward pack his entire career, hopefully he kicks on.
There is some players that need to be prioritised in that off contract list for 2022 (Simpkin, Talau) for starters.
They would probably want to up their value and play out the year though.
I have high hopes for Simpkin. Talau looked ok at wing/centre, not sure what’s installed for him in 2021.
Simpkin and Liddle will obviously be battling it out at hooker. If Simpkin’s has a good start (like Harry did in 2020) I’d be trying to extend his contract asap. -

Why can’t Bore play 80 min? And Tuki appears a long way off. No offence but i don’t understand.
I’m no expert but from observation when some young forwards enter first grade (like Cameron Murray and Angus Crichton) they look to have a big motor but need to build size and strength. Others like Blore have the size and strength but need to build their endurance. The speed in which the game is played at now If Blore’s endurance isn’t At the top level he will get found out in defence.
He has only had 5 NRL games. Hopefully in 2021 he can build his minutes up to be an 80 minute player but I’d be surprised if he is there in the early rounds of the season. -

Asu Kepaoa. Apparently a nickname.
I can’t remember why he is called AJ, the J is possibly a middle name. It was explained in an article when we first signed him. -

Kei is probably the main one to keep an eye on, this kid is a handful and knows how to find the tryline. Big Tuki will be a work in progress, I don’t expect to see him play FG this year. Cini will probably go back to the Panthers and he’s no loss and Seyfarth’s success will depend on whether he has bulked up more to handle playing in the middle.
Taumalolo style , bulky but has speed to burn
Willow mentioned a few rookies. Are u referring to Tuki?
