The loss to the Titans at Leichardt, the controversial loss to the broncos at Campbelltown and the loss to the Knights in Tamworth will be the difference. Win two or maybe even one of those and we make the top 8 this year…

I’d just like to ask one question to any Queensland forumers (Happy).

In all seriousness do you find players like:

  • thaiday
  • hodges
  • mcguire
  • slater
  • gagai
  • chambers
  • boyd
  • myles

Grubs on the field ?

Im a NSW supporter and i can appreciate that players like Gallen, Bird and Ennis were grubs and hard to like… i was just wondering why it feels like every second queensland player is a deadset grub on the field

With no Tedesco and Moses next season I would keep Elijah Taylor at 13 and work a structure that utlilises his ball playing ability.

Whilst we have great finishes signed up for next season we need a ball playing option other than Brooks and Reynolds. Hoping Lolohea can develop that part of his game at the back as well.

On a side note, Matulino is having a great game today against the Titans. We really have made some astute signings for 2018 and beyond 😃

2018 has a Bulldogs 2009 feel about it.

They came last in 2008 after the SBW saga and were at the lowest possible point that season.

They recruited:

  • J Morris
  • Kimmorely
  • Ennis
  • Stagg
  • Hannat
  • Goodwin

Who weren’t superstars but solid first graders at the time.

Combined with the promotion of promising youngsters like Idris and a few other seasoned players like Ryan and El-Masri they went on to finish in the top 4 and make a preliminary final.

I dunno but 2018 has that sort of feel for us…

With the apparent signing of Taane Milne, it calls for a 2018 team update:

1. Lolohea
2. Nofoaluma
3. Suli
4. Milne
5. Fonua
6. Reynolds
7. Brooks
8. Matulino
9. Mcillwrick
10. Packer
11. Mcqueen
12. Lawerence
13. Taylor

14. Sue
15. Aiolai
16. Marsters
17. Liddle

18. Chee-Kam
19. Tawal
20. Tatola
21. Felise

So at this point we are looking at something like this:

1. Lolohea
2. Nofoaluma
3. Suli
4. Watene-Zelezniak
5. Fonua
6. Reynolds
7. Brooks
8. Packer
9. Mcilwrick
10. Matulino
11. Mcqueen
12. Lawerence
13. Taylor

14. Liddle
15. Sue
16. Aiolai
17. Tawal/Felise/ Marsters

Taking into consideration that we can’t have a superstar in every position, I still think we need a strike centre and a hard running edge backrower. We also need one of Tawal, Feleise or Tatola to come off as an impact prop sooner rather than later.

It can’t all happen in one go, and a team is usually built over 2 years soo im hoping with more players coming off contract next season, we can nab one or two more quality players to round out our team.

So Gus Gould reckons we’ve signed at least 2 more players from rival clubs.

Putting two and two together, you would assume they are from clubs that he has some inside info on (Panthers and Roosters)

I’d be inclined to believe that we have maybe signed an Aiden Guerra and/or Conor Watson and/or CHN or the like…

1. Hopoate
2. Gordon - goal kicker

They are the missing pieces to the puzzle.

If we can get those two, top 8 is very achievable in 2018 and maybe even more likely then the start of 2017.
