Why are people talking about singing a halve i thought we had 6/7 who could play in that position hence why we are letting Benji go.
So as far as I am concerned that’s one of the last positions we need to fill, after all it’s about balancing our squad isn’t it

We have many 6/7 that can play in that position - how many of them are worth a bean.

It’s like using public transport instead of buying a Ferrari. Think I’ll take the Ferrari myself.

Enjoy the public transport Goanna57.

Nothing wrong with public transport Russell it’s a lot cheaper and quite reliable, besides it keeps me employed.Remember it’s all about the balance of the squad so we don’t need another halve got any number can play there

I understand - but none of them play it well enough that is why we need a play maker.

Russ,I think that with Benji gone and JREY still with us next year maybe Madge has identified that Brooks plays better and is more comfortable with JR in the halves with him…
They both combined have a better win rate than LB and Benji this year…
Its just a thought because maybe JR could be a good player for us next year with more responsibility now Benji wont be there and Madges coaching could make the pair a good halves combination…I know there are many on here that dont like JR as a player but maybe next year could be a good year for him and us…who really knows what Madge has up his sleeve…

If Madge thought Reynolds was a better match for Brooks wouldn’t he have played Reynolds this year instead of Marshall?

I think that Madge played Marshall because of his attacking style and being a 6/7 could change the attack we had…Dont forget that Madge dropped Benji for his defense deficiencies and he put JR in which were some of the games we did win when Benji was on the bench…

I dont know what Madge has in his plans for next year and JR could be on the bench or out of the squad…I just dont think Madge wants to keep chopping and changing the combinations to much eg Mbye centre, fullback.or 5/8…I think Madge is looking for a stable competant halves combination next year ,who that will be anybody knows…

I’m constantly amazed that after seven seasons and 145 games, people are still waiting for (nearly) 26 year old Brooks to come of age and/or step out from the shadow of Farah, Marshall or whoever.

This year he was thoroughly outplayed by a rookie hooker and a senior citizen five-eighth.

He’s an average halfback that can’t deliver us a top 8 finish.

I have to have a slightly different opinion than yours Papacito, only because I look at the way he had to chop and change his playing style to suit at least 4 different coaches with different structures and gameplans…you also have to understand Luke is timid by nature and with Benji gone he may become a lot more aggressive as 2021 progresses

What about a Cooper Cronk …he has a different club coach , different All Stars coach , different State coach and different Australian coach all in one season …all different styles …maybe 2 different in a week

Everyone STOP with the excuses for Brooks , Marshall , our backline , our forward pack , our defence and the results they achieve every week , and every season

They aren’t good enough , they aren’t acceptable , and shouldn’t be acceptable by anyone involved with this club whether it is a fan ,coach ,CEO ,Football manager , medico ,assistant coach or recruitment or retention guru

Reality is tough …but you need to deal with it

What til Rd 25 next year …when things are even worse

Brooks isnt a Cronk,…Cronk is much older and has been in the Melb system under one coach for a lot longer than Brooks had been…so do other players at elite level have different coaches…Brooks isnt an elite player with the experience Cronk has had…

So If he isn’t an elite player …we should be looking an upgrading him asap

No give Madge a chance to develope him into the halfback he was hyped to be…he has the ability,he just needs to have a coach for him to trust in and find confidence in his own abilities…

Strange enough some of the teams best 80 minute performances have been when Benjis been out of the side and Brooks has been the main playmaker

Canberra 14-6 (loss). Ok we lost this one but I vividly remember us having this game in our grasp until the most brain dead 10 minute stint from Packer in existence cost us with a stupid penalty and a sin bin which led to all of Canberra’s points

Cowboys 36-20 (win). We leaked some points but we were up 36-0 at half time. but but how are we going to score points without Benji next year

Bulldogs 34-6 (win). Probably our most complete performance of the year if you don’t include the Brisbane game. Once again…but but where are our points coming from next year

Penrith 19-12 (loss). Up at half time and was 12-12 with about 10 minutes to go against the minor premiers

Lukes best games have been when Reynolds was beside him and we won more games with JR and LB in the halves…this year has been an exceptionally bad year to form combinations and try various players because of injuries and no CC played to judge the performance of NRL standard players coming up…

From what I gather the Republicans and Dems have supporters with varying points of issue…
I watched AOC,Pelosi,Biden and K.Harris on youtube,my conclusion was that the seem full of hate and despair for the American people and way of life, socialism seems to be at their core…I dont really know, but what I do know is listening to J.Jorden,D.Collins on separate occasions,it seems they want unity and fairness for the American people…

It doesnt worry me but to watch the rioters and people speaking out for BLM certainly makes me glad I live here and not there…

I think this may be a fair call. I still think he is our best option out of the players that we have as one half. So you have to pick him.

We have to be looking for better halves though.

And that is exactly the problem …what top 8 sides HAVE to pick someone even though they aren’t up to it

It’s worse than what you are stating as well because he isn’t the biggest problem in the squad. That is why at this point you have to have him playing. Then you just hope he finds form.

I don’t think you can trade him either. It’s not like American sports where the talent pool is so much larger.

In Semi Pro Jackie Moon traded the teams washing machine for Woody Harrelson

Because White Men Can’t Jump

Yeah right,I heard when your missus says jump, you say how high darling…

The video was really pleasant to listen to and how much the squad admire our veterans for what the do on and off the field…the boys all spoke well, but that Harry Grant is a bottler of a bloke,if he leaves us I honestly wish him the very best in whatever he does in the future, skys the limit for that champion young man…
