We all have our opinions in regard to extending Madge…lets look at it from the inner sanctum point of view…do the board see that Madge is changing the culture of the club all round,is the team becoming a defensive hard hitting dynamo, are the players responding to his hard line performance reviews and excepting being dropped for non performance and finally is Madge genuinely guiding players so that they become better players and persons…

In my opinion he is a special to get extended,he is what this club has been lacking for such a long time and is respected by the players as well…just my opinion …

@TillLindemann said in Coronavirus Outbreak:

Man I hope I have a job at the end of this, but I’m starting to think I won’t. Doing our last day today then the boss is sending us home for the foreseeable future. He’s a good bloke who wants to keep us all on, but if there’s no work coming in I can’t see the business staying afloat.

I work in a large pub,the owner has just spent a lot of money revamping and renovating as of today it closes indefinitely and most of us have no income because we are casual worker,he is a great person and feels for us,its about time we feel for him because he also has the pressure of bills and keeping the hotel in a condition ready to trade again when he is told…
As many have said we are going to go through a lot of pain in the next few months some more than others,I honestly think we have to abide by whatever rules are put in place, look after each other, stay safe and healthy and don’t let things affect your mental state…sometimes its difficult as I know first hand, dont be ashamed to ask for help, lots are going to need it before this thing finishes its course…all I can say is God bless and hope he can hold us all in the palm of his hand to help guide us through this…stay strong brothers and sisters we are all part of an unprecedented disaster that is going to go down in the history books,if we do this right the next generations will benefit from our pain knowing we did our very best to save lives and make things easier for others…

Im really enjoying watching Madge change the culture in this club…
Dropping players not performing to NRL standard, including our Icon Benji,at his best -brilliant,however he is getting older and has the worst defensive record this year in the NRL,Madge builds his game on strong defensive plans…
What most don’t realise is that there is a number of players in the squad that have not been able to get a run with State Cup being called off due to covid,Madge is giving some a run to get an idea of where they are at and to see if they are NRL quality…if you look at it in perspective he is trying to be as fair as he can while trying to field a strong competitive team…this year is an unprecedented year all around,it has affected not only the NRL but the community as a whole,Madge is doing his best under these circumstances…
Our depth as far as experience and quality, is rather thin and we have many young up and comers that need to get game time and this is Madge doing just that, otherwise he will never know what he has to pick from when injuries or illness hits the team.
Im not one to bang on about not making the finals is another failure,Im more of supporting the coach who is making changes so the club and team will be a success going forward for a number of years to come…
What Madge has done doesn’t please everyone…but hard decisions have to be made,he is an NRL level coach,I have faith in what he is trying to achieve…
For those whinging and whining about not making the finals they should go and follow the Roosters or Storm…Iam much happier supporting a hard working coach who is doing his utmost to get this club from the rabble it was to a constantly hard working team that will become a top team in the future…
The Raiders game has given us an insight to where Madge is trying to take this team with what he has got to work with,I will support him all the way as I watch the progress of this team throughout the season…

I can understand the frustration among the forum members re not getting the signings yet, however we must let Pasco and Madge do their job…It is a bit of a relief that they haven’t gone beserk with the cash and are negotiating along the hard line…We have to remember that Ivan was given a free hand to do what he liked…how did that go for us…now that the club is being stringent and not making the same mistake, people are getting up in arms about them being cautious.
Lets be patient and see how things transpire,if its no good lets cut loose on the whole lot,if it works out well, lets give the club credit for doing the right thing…

ps can I like my own post…

@pawsandclaws1 said in Tigers tell Reynolds he's free to find a new club:

Josh and his partner were at the finals of the local soccer at Lilli Pilli oval yesterday. He engaged well with the public talking and having photographs taken with those who want them. It was really well done.

I went back to the Wests Leagues Club after the game last night…The couple I was with were from Menai in Sydney and made the trip to Campo to support our mighty team…We organised dinner in the new Chinese restaurant in the club, guess who was the only WTs player to mingle with the fans and sign kids auotographs…I didn’t meet him because I had to ring the missus to see how things were going…GRUB…He is a deadset great guy and if most on here think he didn’t contribute to that great win, think again,I have rarely seen a team perform with that much enthusiasm and vigour once Grrub got on and into it…

Hi all,I have been pretty busy lately, but Iam giving you an update on how things are going…
Firstly my partner had a hysterectomy and change of medication from one chemo tablet to another, this caused depression and mood swings…she is undergoing councelling with a breast cancer councellor…
Secondly she had to have a mammogram to see how things are progressing, they found another lump in the other breast but cant define what it is until she has a biopsy next week…so as you can imagine the road so far has been extremely rocky but may become smooth sooner rather than later…
Thirdly I have left the club that I worked for since 2006,13yrs, to pursue my own business.I will be managing a small café and B&B in the southern highlands as well as setting up…wait for it…ZIGGYS BAR and GRILL…got a ring to it hasn’t it…
hopefully I can look after the missus at the same time, but gee this latest news comes at a bad time…I HAVE GOT TO RIDE OUT THE STORM…
All you guys keep safe, have a great Christmas and keep up the love of the great WTs and each other…😉

You know what really gets me about articles like this and what opinions retired stars give about a young guy doing well…

Not once did Cronk say how well Harry is doing under coach Maguire even though he was not known at NRL level until he came to the WTs…
He doesn’t consider how Harry feels about the WTs and the players he is developing a bond with…

Cronk was lucky to play in good teams…Harry came to us from a good system, but it is our system that is making him the player and person he is atm and that’s credit to Madge, the club and the squad…

I think the club has plenty of money to spend on players, however they are being extremely careful on who they spend that money on as they don’t want the embarrassment of previous wasteful purchases to rear its ugly head again…be patient and see what comes out in the next few weeks before kickoff…

I have said it before in a post earlier that I was taken as a joke, but here it is…
If Harry wasn’t at the WTs this year he would be third string D/H at Storm which would have meant very limited game time if any in the top 17 and probably going around each week at training with the squad…
He was given to us as a respected prospect for D/H at NRL level and we swapped him with Momo, they needed a centre we needed a D/H…
The experience and expertise at NRL level that he has been given by us, and by which I mean that the coaching and expertise given to him by Madge after every game to learn what is needed to better his game he would not have gotten at the Storm this year…
Its ok for Ponissi to blow wind up everybodies arse and say Harry will be wearing PURPLE NEXT YEAR is a sign of how arrogant the man is…granted he came to us on loan…His game and persona have been developed by us and this is the reason he is a DALLY M contender this year, here with us and not at the STORM…
WE TOOK HIM…WE HAVE DEVELOPED HIM AT NRL LEVEL not the Storm…
I completely understand he has to go back at some point, but he was third string at the Storm, we have made him the player he is at NRL level even as much to say he could be an origin contender…
As I said we have developed him and what you have is an NRL D/H coached by Madge, supported by the club and supported by our squad…

The only reason he will be back at Storm is if Cammy retires so they can have a back up to Brandon Smith because Bellamy promised the 9 to him not Harry…
Now they know how good Harry is thanks to Madge and the club they are spruiking how good he is,unfortunately they didn’t have faith in him by putting B Smith first…

When Madge first arrived at our club, many were saying he is a good coach but players cant handle his training regime,it lead to believe that’s why he left Souths and why apparently Matto left…

But put all that aside and evaluate what he has done so far at our club and with this squad…
they are playing better football, striving for the 80 minute game, believing in each other and there is a change of culture developing within the club…

The biggest thing for me is that Madge appears to be a true man manager,as Luci said" Madge believes in me"…
That is the main thing anyone either athlete, coach or manager has to have to excel ““BELIEF””…
And I think that is whats happening now at our club…
Its got to be a good thing don’t you guys and girls agree…

I clearly remember many forum members saying ''Brooks wont get dropped he is to comfortable in his position and in Madges eyes he does no wrong""

God I love watching Madge wield the axe and stay true to his word…AT LEAST NOW EVERYBODY KNOWS THEY MUST PERFORM…I feel a culture change coming on…

@innsaneink Im still here guys,I have posted a few times this week…the last time I organised a get together only a couple of people turned up…but the first couple of times we had great numbers…I would love to catch up with whoever wants to have a beer and watch the game, usually meet at Wests Leagues Leumeah bistro for a bite and beer then onto the game…
Ink,I still remember the first time we met, what a great day it was…I might have to pass the baton for someone to organise things until the missus finishes her treatments this year…cheers all…

Momo is a player who is trying his best in the NRL side,he did very well against the Dogs,he is playing on the wing,a position he isn’t all that familiar with and is scoring tries. He put his hand up to kick goals when Marsters couldn’t handle the pressure anymore and Mbye got injured.Does he deserve criticism for missing the last shot…absolutely not,he deserves praise for contributing the efforts and work done during the game…
I bet he felt just as bad because he missed that goal, you could see he was devastated at missing…Its easy being a gutless lowlife on social media trying to get a bite …go out and fill Momos boots and then understand what its like in real life…

I just finished work and started to read the rubbish written by some forumers who should respect people for what they have done…firstly we all know that grub isn’t his same self anymore and is not up to nrl standard in many peoples opinion, however Madge will be the judge on where Josh ends up,to constantly bag him out on the forum starts to get depressing reading the same stuff…and before you say don’t read it, I read the posts with interest until the crap gets thrown in…
As for trials…I have played many trial games and the objective was to sort out the perspective talent to go on to play FG,picking the top quality players and seeing how they play and watch their skill sets…Thats why the trials were for the probables and possibles…
winning at all costs was never the objective…but people on here seem to know much more than NRL coaches apparently…
