bit harsh mike, Jennings has played 60 games more than you so parasite a bit harsh who knows he might think the same about you. …
i dont like everyone in the team even MCK and Nofo etc but none of them are parasites. Anyone who plays first grade is ok and deserved if some praise even Hoffmans one game so far.

Not harsh at all. It’s not a matter of like or dislike it’s about performance. Jennings is absolutely useless and should never, ever put on a first grade jumper again. All Jennings is doing is taking up a valuable roster spot and wasting $$$.

Next time I go to a WTs member day,Im going to get RJs autograph…Russ will be devestated but I can handle that…
What we all forget is that Madge got him here and obviously thinks something of him…thats for Madge to sort out and live with…

Do we actually have any solid links to any players ahead of Sundays deadline?

It’s hard being on the other side of the world and missing out on so many articles. I use this forum as my main source of information but I never actually know what links have got legs in it or if certain players mentioned are just a suggestion that people would like to see us bring in (e.g Munster).

Hang in there mate, something official will hit the forum at sometime and there will be plenty of for and against the signing …stay safe mate…

Liddle is the brett papworth or bruce reid of hookers he isna fine player but not durable and injury prone. if he stays on the field a full season then he may be great but dont think we can risk it.
If we do lose Harry (dont think we will) then we tey and hold Simpkin and blood him with Walters and let Liddle take up a position at the dogs.
Dogs will come hard for Harry now that McCullough is injured again.

We risked it with Benji.

Benji had already shown he was a once in a generation player and led the club to a premiership in the 1st 2 years of his career despite suffering injuries. Liddle made his 1st grade debut 4 years ago and has been hardly seen. It does your argument a disservice to compare the 2 players.

It does everyone a disservice to keep saying he is injury prone.

As far as I can recall he has not suffered the same injury in the same place whilst playing for us.

I admire your hope

No I am trying to be realistic Tony.

I think he was kicked off too young, some get away with it some don’t. Dead set unlucky
that Talau took his knee out against Manly. I think he’ll go okey now, he has built himself
up alot since that last injury.

I hope your right Russ…I like the way Liddle plays ,but everytime I get confident about the guy being our stable hooker and dummy half,he gets sidelined again…this time I hope he stays on the paddock because the NRL is a tough gig and I fear Liddle will not reach his potential in the game through being on the sideline every few weeks…I would hate to see something like what happened to Dwyer, happen to Liddle, nobody deserves that fate…I pray he can prove to us and the WTs how good he is for a long period of time and maybe help us win a premiership,he does deserve that…

I wonder if they plan on giving Simpkin a go before liddle?

I have seen both Simpkins and Harry Grant and at the same age Simpkin is the better prospect. Better running game and passing game is close. Grant has been learning in the Storm System and is three years further in his progression. He will be ready to dominate first grade in 2022. If we can get Harry for a one year extension and it benefits both the Storm and us it’s a big win.

There’s no guarantees with young players but his biggest issue will be physicality Harry has built up and solid as an rock.

In the meantime we have Liddle and he will be so good Simpkins won’t get a turn.

Nice position to be in.

It is. I’d take Harry any day over both of them as he’s proven he’s world class the other two are still potential which more often than not tends to be not fulfilled

Disagree Chief.

If Grant goes back to Storm (pretty sure he will myself).

Liddle during his 37 games has proved to me that he “Has it”

Simpkins to me has proven nothing, hasn’t played 1 game yet.

Liddell has proved to me he will get injured.

Maybe if his OWN players stop taking him out.

Doesnt matter who took out Liddle…he has proved he is injury prone and that is the question mark hanging over his head mate…

@pawsandclaws1 The figure Roosters disclose they are paying Keary and what he is actually getting paid are two totally different figures.
I wouldn’t believe a word of what you read regarding many player “salaries”.

That is what is out there in the media. If you have proof it is incorrect write to Peter V’landys.

Regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that Reynolds and Mbye are receiving money similar to Keary. Keary is a far better player. Mbye missed four tackles and cost us four tries against Souths. Kindergarten performance and why hasn’t he been dropped? Double standard?

Paws ,you have to take your dislike for Mbye and Reynolds out of the equation when talking salaries of other players…
Both were recruited prior to Madge, both had severe injuries to overcome while with us and obviously Madge can see what both offer to the team…

These are our elite players TT. I like Mbye as a person, he is articulate and a family man. My issue is if both contributed the way Keary does, we would be a top 4 team. They are not so questions need to be asked. If that us uncomfortable for some well …

Keary has suffered how many knocks attempting to tackle much bigger players? Compare that with the four missed tackles against Souths. Keary plays with heart and skill.

I can agree with you on some matters Paws, however you must also take into consideration the 2 different systems…
1 …that Keary is in
2 …that Mbye and Reynolds are in

Keary is in a stable same coach environment and great players around him…
Mbye and Reynolds were recruited by Ivan who then abandoned ship,it left Madge with the 2, then injuries hit them and we have many new younger guys coming in…its been shuffle after shuffle, however Madge has spoken highly of both JR and Mbye in pressers so he obviously has an opinion of the 2 and what they have to offer…
If things were so easy we would be breezing into the top 8 most years .but we have had in my opinion many more hurdles to overcome than the top NRL teams at the moment, but we will get there…Madge wants this club and team to be a strong competative force for years to come…

I reckon Brooks looks much more effective when garner is outside. For some reason it didn’t click with LL and the left side seems to lack fluency and potency.

Funny you say that, last year many family members(all Manly supporters) made comparisons of Brooks and Garner with Beaver Menzies and Cliffy Lyons. Never watched em play so couldn’t really offer an feedback on it though.

It’s a close call. 🤣

Brooks also had a great combination kicking ingoal for Tedesco.

To be fair Cliffy was one of the most penetrating and devious 5/8’s I’ve ever seen. Loved watching him play, holding the ball out front and drifting. He was a special player.
And Beaver was arguably the greatest hole-running second-rower of the modern era.
It’s not comparing apples and oranges, it’s comparing truffles to gruel. 😄

Siro I played against Cliff Lyons when he was still playing for the Gundagai Tigers…he had NRL written all over him…the moves and speed he had as a playmaker was a pleasure to watch…even if you were at the recieving end…had many a beer at the Criterion hotel after the game with him…
Beaver was a great backrower to watch…I didnt have anything to do with him at all,but he was great to watch…

Harry will go back to the Storm…unfortunately …but we knew the deal from the start…
Liddle has shown so much in a career full of injury and I cant trust him to stay on the park so we can have a stable spine with him as the main dummy half…2 games brilliant and next few months off with injury, then its reshuffle again.Simpkin has shown huge potential but we also seen that in Brooks and he hasnt quite produced because of the chopping and changing of coaches since his debut, the brilliance is there but he has to start showing it ASAP…
