Storm should conditionally release Grant from his contract effective immediately.
- He can only sign a 1 year deal for 2020 with WT.
- Storm have the last right/offer on his contract for 2021+
We can fit both Grant and Momo in our 2020 cap
Storm could ask us to do similar with Momo, i have a feeling this will happen once the $15 k has been and gone. The piece with Grant yesterday in the herald probably wouldnt sit well with the storm, unless they know its still bubbling behind the scenes. It could be seen as though the NRL are affecting the mental well being of two players, which could also be a reason for Grant to speak out.
As far as I could tell this was the original plan right? Both guys were having their contracts cancelled, signing a one year deal with the other club then signing back on for 2021 and 2022 with their original clubs
Only reason it didn’t work is because Storm didn’t have the salary cap for it, that’s why Grant wants to come to us without Momirovski being sent to storm
if that’s the case, to make this work all Momo had to do was take $15k less this year and add that to his next Tigers deal.
But i think Grant is on minimum wage and for Momirovski to take 15k less would put him under that threshold and therefore the contract wouldn’t work.
I would seriously get Drinkwater to play fb in 2021 and onwards. Hopefully Val holmes does just enough to keep him out of the position and we can swoop.
Kid is a talent!!!
Theyre moving him to the halves.
Thats his preferred position.
Shame, but Fullback is his preferred position though…
Look i think all of us would love for him to do well and if he is playing in the 17 each week that means he is doing something right. I hope he has a ripper year and earns his place in the side and performs, his experience and defence is what is needed for this young pack.
But at the same time i can see him playing the year out in CC
Looked at the telegraph regards Madge talking to a former rep player and fox sports commentator about a job. Does Benny Ikin still commentate, that is bloke who can read a game, can hold a narrative and is widely respected across all levels of the game.
Blocker, not relevant in the modern game
Gasnier, still in touch with the modern game, but a player more known for individual skills than team centered enterprise.
Ennis, tied up with Canberra.
Brandy, a Panther till the end.
Matty Johns, too many things on the go.
That only leaves Braith, less said about that one the better
Probably Kevvie maybe?
