Based on what we seen last week, the alternatives are no better.
Whether Moses is at 5/8 or fullback, he needs to be able to make a tackle.
I’m fine with Moses playing 5/8, what is there to lose at this point.
You can’t really hide anyone in defense in modern footy, I understand people’s fears about him defending in the front line but let’s face it we just got pumped 64-6 so the others aren’t doing any better of a job.
Fact remains the only way to improve any attribute is to get in and do it, giving him a month of tackling monsters up in the front line will only help to improve his tackling confidence for next season, at which point a lot of people have him pegged for our starting 5/8 anyway.
I thought Austin had a blinder filling in at fullback a couple of weeks back, so chuck him there against the Roosters and give Moses the #6, at this stage we can’t do much worse.
The less people you play out of position the better IMO, keep Rowe there for now, hopefully it will only be a few weeks until Teddy is back.
I definitely don’t want to shift Nofa, Richards or Simona out of position and with Moltz injured Rowe is the only real option to replace Teddy.
It would be a great time for the Inu rumour to come through though.
I’m undecided… He looks a bit nervous / unsure of himself.
He is definitely trying, he just looks a bit hesitant at times and his positioning isn’t great, every time Sandow lined up a kick from inside their 40 I got nervous, and it did result in a 40/20 near the end.
Can’t fault him too much though, he’s doing what he can and wouldn’t have been expecting to be in 1st grade so suddenly this year.
We don’t really have too many other options, I don’t want us to shift Nofa or Richards back there, they are doing a great job for us on the wings and with Teddy & Moltz injured, I guess Rowe is the only option?
