Wests Tigers confirm 2018 trial match schedule

Post by WT2K » Thu 25 Jan, 2018 2:03 pm

Wests Tigers have today confirmed the Club’s trial match schedule for 2018, with Ivan Cleary’s side set to face off in matches against the Cowboys and Sharks.

Having played against North Queensland at Campbelltown Sports Stadium last year, Wests Tigers will now travel north to face the 2017 Grand Finalists in their first trial match on Saturday, February 17 at Barlow Park, Cairns, which recently hosted matches for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

The following week, Wests Tigers will return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium to take on Cronulla .

The game on Saturday, February 24 is a part of a five match program with Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers facing off in Harold Matthews and SG Ball to begin the day before Wests Tigers and the Sharks contest trials in Jersey Flegg, Intrust Super Premiership and NRL.

The match will be Campbelltown’s seventh Wests Tigers trial match in the last eight years — further strengthening the club’s presence in the Macarthur region.

Wests Tigers Members will once again be granted free access to the club’s home trial match against Cronulla, with tickets on sale for non-Members two weeks before the game.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the trial matches would play a key role in the team’s preparations for the 2018 season.

“These trial matches are the first chance for fans to see the team in action and we’re really looking forward to seeing a number of new faces for the first time,” Pascoe said.

“As a club, we’re pleased to bolster our presence in South West and Macarthur region of Sydney with a high-profile trial match at Campbelltown and reward our strong Membership base with free entry to the game — further increasing the value of becoming a Member.

“I’m sure all Members and fans are looking forward to seeing Ivan Cleary’s side in action, and everyone at the club is equally excited for a strong 2018 season ahead.”

TRIALS: When fans sh*t themselves if we fail to win a trial game or, vice versa, think we are finals bound if we win a few....can't wait.
