Well that will put the heat on Bennett to make a call quickly if he thinks we won't wait for him, and I agree we can't wait, Cleary gate has gone to far for him to be our coach next year. If Bennett won't come next year then Maguire will do, we need this sorted ASAP so the media can get on with annoying Manly or the Bulldogs.
That all sounds like ducks and drakes to me.

The sort of thing you see when Bennett's manager is looking for a little top up from the original Wests offer.
Yep, Bennett wants more, we fire back with the Maguire comment, sounds plausible

Thats how i see it ;)
I just pray that Pascoe has got this all under control behind the scenes. I’m happy to take Bennett or Macguire. We need Cleary gone asap, he better not be here in 2019.

I am not sold on Maguire. Has a similar pedigree to Potter, except he came home to a decent side.

Lost the dressing room within 2 years.
Madge is a noted overtrainer , you get results for 2 seasons and the players burn out .....
Oh imagine a full time professional football player having to train hard...poor diddums...

If Cleary is gone for 2019/20 and that will only happen if negotiations pan out in our favour, then for the life of me I can't understand why Geoff Toovey doesn't get more of a mention on this thread.

What is our best and worst case scenario for 2019? I think it’s easy to get caught up in the emotion of all this but I just want the best possible outcome for the team and the future of the club.
I’ll be honest and admit I’m in two minds with the media speculation. On one hand, I worry if it’s mostly been orchestrated by Gus so Pascoe and Go play right into his hands. He seems smart and manipulative enough. But then you also know that the simple fact that it’s still carrying on, is because Ivan and/or the club has not shut anything down (which the club shouldn’t have to do in the first place). We wouldn’t even be in this situation if had Ivan not been approached by Dave O’Neill ( or whatever his name is) and It’s only caused nothing but a headache.
If Ivan goes to Penrith his goals would include getting them to the Grand Final and helping Nathan further develop his game. So what exactly would our next coach’s main objective need to be? The thing that sucks the most is it’s likely we’re back at square one.

We gotta make the finals with any new coach first season. No more 'rebuilding' lol. I know its a new coach but anything less isn't good enough for me.

But you need to realse when enough is enough. That was a huge issue at Souths and also not very good game plans.

There's got to be an investigation.

The answer is in the intense interest in Toovey as a great coach.

My understanding was until Bennett name came onto the picture he was number 2 choice behind Maguire

Nah it all came from Blueslanders

I haven't heard anything different from Cleary coaching possibly in 2019

Crikey I hope he isn't, I think he can coach, but the media attention we would attract would be out of control, he has to go, he has never once fully committed to us throughout this whole ordeal, which he brought upon us. That statement he read out was far from convincing, and nothing since, his heart is already at the riff
