Mitch Brown

Post by alex » Fri 26 Mar, 2010 10:35 pm

Without meaning to bring out the negatives in a game that had so many positives, but Mitch Brown should never be allowed anywhere near the first grade side again. Looked lost in both attack and defence and never backed himself in attack ... put in 3-4 grubbers?

Please Sheens, send him back to State Cup.

agree he was useless and was caught out in defence a number of times. Maybe time to blood Pritchard however Fitshenry will probably be picked, Fulton will be the only change to the side next week barring injuries

He played ok.

Tried very hard.

But is certainly behind half a dozen players for top 17 inclusion in his position (wing/fullback).

Arana Taumata would have blitzed it tonight out there on the wing instead of Brown and would have made it to the tryline.

Pritchard would have been on the front page of the Telegragh tomorrow if he played tonight. . .

I don know about that, Taumata ain't a winger BB and neither is Brown for that matter. Its a specialist position these days. I dare say if Brown had've been playing his natural position tonight we might've been crowing a different song.. but hey, it worked out well, Beau got his chance to shine. Hopefully Pritchard isn't too far back in the pecking order.. but it already seems that way with Fitzyhenry, Daniela & Brown all given a run ahead of him.

Ok. Probably the point I wanted to make was if we had a genuine speedster there we would have scored more tries.

I thought he was good.

Fitzy may have been better but I don't know. As for the other players you have stated as being better they are all unproven therefore Sheens made a good choice.

He was ok but looks to tentative when he runs the ball. I'd certainly have Pritchard on the wing ahead of him, however I'd be keeping Ryan at fullback and having Tuqiri and Tuiaki on the wings.

When Hodgo left he said he would like to see Beau Ryan at fullback.

i admire him more after tonight for putting in those grubbers. This is not Cronulla anymore and Mitch knows it.

Beau Ryan will be fullback for a bit. I reckon Fitzhenry will come onto the wing against the Raiders although im starting to think would like to see Ayshford shift to the wing and Davis could come into the centres. No need for any changes though after tonights excellent performance

Id be happy once Taumata is back to full fitness to have the following backline minus Tuiaki

1.Taumata
2.Lote
3.Ryan
4.Lawrence
5.Ayshford

6.Marshall
7.Moltzen

He did all 3 grubbers when he ran out of options... if he backed himself on two occassions he would have been taken over the sideline at the 20m mark...

He played well! No mistakes, hit up a few times to take the pressure of the forwards when needed and really... should be the next week...

Fair call.....

He got exposed when Parra threw the ball more than 2 passes...instead of a bomb......
Wests Tigers don't need a Coach.. The playing group has taken over..

17. Ayshford

Drop Fitzhenry

Ayshford can cover Centre and Wing comfortably and can mix it up in the forwards if required. I must say though, I do think Ayshford is doing an outstanding job at Centre. On tonight's performance, there isn't any room for Taumata unless he is scoring 2-3 tries each week.

Anyone criticising Brown on that performance is a rubbish judge of a footballer. His quick play the balls were one of the reasons we got off to a good start. Quiet second half but a very solid performance.

Spot on... our first try was of the back of Ryan, Ayshford and Brown making 50m - 60m in 3 tackles due to smart dummy half running and quick play the balls...
