Souths temporarily moving to a stadium further from their traditional supporter base than their current one?

Wow yes amazing leadership. No risks at all...

And somehow Souths playing there locks out everyone else?
There is no risk at all when you relocate to the biggest growth area in the country, they will never return to Alliance or the city again ...Alliance is going to be a huge white elephant ... there management are not fools they know where the strength is and positioning themselves for the future . Our club on the other hand want to still play at grounds that can not even accomodate the membership at its current level well I know who is playing the foolish game here .

Mate you need to check your facts.

Melbourne has 50% of the Top 10 largest growth areas nationally; NSW has 3 (#3, #4, #8) - Leppington, Marsden Park and Waterloo. All these areas are ~30 km from Parra Stadium, but a significant amount of Sydney falls within a 30 km radius of Parra, so it's sa nulk argument. Is Parra near a lot of pop growth? Yes. So is Homebush and ironically so is the SFS due to the unit development in Waterloo, Mascot and Pyrmont/CBD.

But I'm honestly not clear on your latest argument... what of the SFS? It's being demolished, at which point it may be the newest and most modern ground in Australia, with a new light rail link and 10 min walk from Central Station.

But also what of it, Tigers (and for that matter Rabbits) have not played out of the SFS for some time / forever.

And yes there are risks - Souths playing at WSS, even assuming it's permanent, which it currently is not, isnl further from their trad supporters than ANZ already is. And it's in the middle of Eels territory.

And lastly I don't see this having any impact on what the Tigers do or don't do.

Why wouldn't Souths move back to the re-developed SFS while ANZ is re-built (if that really goes ahead)at least they would be playing closer to their core fan base.
I think you answeed your own question - they won't lose that core base by moving to WSS - in the article i think its quoted that 10% of their members are from western or south western sydney. The move is obviously to increase this number.

Have to agree with Snake here. WT sem to be a club who are re-active instead of proactive and they will sit on their hands and procrastinate whilst other clubs get the jump on us as usual and we will be left with stale crumbs.
A deal to be playing out of WSS is most definitely the smart way to go heading forward. Hope we get it done sooner rather than later.
That deal is over now Souths have moved in another opportunity gone begging ... 6 home grounds is the way to go , divided supporter base .
The club can not even give the playing roster a decent training facility .
I don't think the dealis over - doesn't the article say WT and Canterbury are considering the move.
