In an article I read on ninemsn , fonz said , they will be monitoring the cut on gibbos knee . and he may have to sit out ?

Bizarrely He cut the same knee on the same ground (SFS) a couple of years ago . As i recall it :
-he played the next week
-the cut got infected
- he then missed the following few weeks .

I think WTs will be wanting to rest him , to Minimize risk of infection further injury .( In saying that B Ryan played 7 days after receiving 14 stitches in his head ). The spanner in the works is that this is Gibbos last Home game at Campbelltown stadium , judging by his FB and twitter posts over last couple of months it means Alot to him and he will be desperate to
Play . I think it will go like this : so long as the game is under control , he will start the game with a short stint and finishwith a short stint , this will minimize risk and enable him to be farewalled by the CTown faithful in the style that he truly deserves .

For his sake, I hope he gets some game time. Be nice to have a good farewell for him.

Not worth risking further time off though and hopefully common sense prevails.

It's already been mentioned on here that Flanagan and BMM will be added to the side tonight.

It wouldnt surprise me if this was all just the usual games that Tim Sheens plays with his roster before Kick-Off..
I have no idea if he is in or out, but i saw him yesterday out and about with his wife and kids and was walking fine without any covering on his knee...

Guess we will wait and see.. :D

According to the Herald this morning, Gibbs was out, Payten was starting prop, and Mark Flanagan was on to the bench. I don't know if that was their speculation or if someone close to Coach Sheens had slipped them the info.

Reported on 2GB that Gibbs was out. Had a quote from him saying the same thing has happened before (ie, out from a cut from a sprinkler head)
