We have to beat Warriors first but yeah I would definitely be interested in going down to Melbourne if we beat Warriors.

all these threads about the possible Melbourne game are getting rediculous. We haven't even beaten the Warriors for gods sake. Some people are getting a little too cocky

Trying not to get ahead of myself, but I have convinced the Mrs to bring forward our Melbourne 4 day weekend trip scheduled for after the long weekend to the weekend after next if the boys win on Friday night.

Thursday the Queen Victoria Markets, Friday Tutankhamun, Saturday St Kilda "beach" and the Wests Tigers, Sunday a warm inner glow at breakfast. An awesome weekend I say.

i heard melbourne airport is quite a distance from the city and there is no train from the airport to the city. maybe there are buses? i have caught the train down to melbourne and back a couple of times. i think it left sydney around 8pm and got to melbourne around 6am. i just slept on the train. some trains have beds. if we beat warriors and the game against storm is on the sat night then i might see if there is a train that leaves sydney on the fri night. last time i went down to melbourne on the train there were around a dozen of us wests tigers fans on the train and we got a tigers chant going quite a few times  also i dont know if i would be able to get my C'MON WESTS banner on a plane, but i do remember i brought a FWO banner down to melbourne on the train for round 1 in 2007.

A flight one way is about $110-$180...depending on the time of the flight.

Cheapest flights I seen were thru jetstar around $119 each way.. (although tiger airways had flights sat arvo for $80 but pushing for time).. The train leaves Sydney at 8.40pm fri night, gets into melb at 7.35am sat morning.. return journey departs at 0830am Sunday morning, gets into central at 7.55pm (www.countrylink.info) - $260 return..
Hope this helps a bit..

 you'd prefer a 22 hour round train trip as opposed to a 2 hour round flight for almost the same dollars?
