Another Government shutdown in the US, the 3rd this year. No wall for Donnie.

If he couldn’t get the funding for 2 years with a Republican House and Senate, fat chance he’ll get it in the next 2 years with a Democratic House.

Maybe he can ask Mexico again :roll

I think the scariest situation in the Trump Circus is more and more are leaving

But the ones leaving are the few that stand up to him and offer logic

Jim Mattis is off in February 2019 now .......

Trump is going to have a meltdown that will cause the world issues sooner rather than later

No one who will stand up and correct him is left on board

Unfortunately you are right the few people who have tried to rein in his impetuosity/stupidity are leaving him on bad terms. The last thing the world needs is "yes men" around him nodding their heads in agreement

Thank you ;)

*hey if your not going too interpret irony in my statements. I won't in yours.*
Quoting a propaganda site like skeptical science isn't irony, its comedy.

And because you were sucked in by the website, you then went on to double down on their false claims.

Slow clap for you.
Skeptical science is fine, their quotes are accurate.

What gets me is that ostridges/denialists like yourself have jacked up Sydneys power prices.

As we see:
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... -and-solar

"in South Australia can expect the biggest price falls – down $120 a year on average by 2021 – followed by south-east Queensland ($76), Tasmania ($39), New South Wales ($27) and Victoria ($25).

But prices will soar 9.3% in Western Australia, or $156 a year, with rises also expected in the Australian Capital Territory, up $87, and the Northern Territory, up $47."

So a smart battery and solar system in South Australia produces the biggest power bill reduction in Australia.
Remember Abbott, campaigning about power rises, and prices going straight up while he was in government.

Are you OK with poor Western Sydney families paying for your Coal company subsidies and climate denial? Had Australia had an ETS and clear direction our power bills would have been going down. Good thing Labor in SA took some leadership.
I guess Clive Palmer needs more stakes to feed himself. Poor Coal welfare I mean subsidy queen.
How many blackouts and price rises did SA endure before this massive cut?

Can you produce details of what each state was paying 10 years ago, whether they were self sufficient in terms of generating and where their power was coming from?
Good point.
South Australia was basically black out capital, closely followed by Victoria.
However that was 2016. South Australia did have some renewables in it's generation feed, but their large blackout was caused because of downed power lines on the grid.
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... t-to-blame

This is a grid problem. When everyone is connected and you have your generation being done on the coast. Down powerlines will bring down your grid.

Victoria would often have Greyout's as the state could not match peak power demand.

Where is the power coming from?
This is one graph, there are a few others.
In the last 10 years prices have increased incredibly:
https://theconversation.com/a-high-pric ... ills-89450
^ this shows you what the Greenies are responsible for (16% price rise) and what has changed in the market (a lot more).
The Retail factor increase is far larger then any renewable effort.

also the ABC, being negative on Renewable energy. But shows the price rises.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-16/ ... cc/9052094

Hazelbrook and other Brown coal plants have closed. A part of this is that they were highly polluting. Another part was that they were built when the Newtown Jets were a finals prospect. These plants have a life, with a high investment up front. The 80's may have paid for your cheaper power in the 2000's, but that investment has ended.

Were they 'self sufficent'? Do you mean did they generate enough power?
Compare NSW to Victoria. NSW was Gov owned in the 1990's and overproduced to meet demand. We never if rarely had distruptions and I don't recall a Grey out. Victoria regularly had Greyouts as they were privatised. Their operators would try to match demand and occasionally get it wrong.

When they got it wrong the state stopped.

The way of the future is smart grids like South Australia that can cope with this fluctuations.

Spot on. South Australia's blackouts/brownouts etc had bugger all to do with renewables despite the outright lies the federal government tried to sell.

I actually hate how we are looking at America's stupidity so much.
The Government that effects us most is probably the NSW state government (if you are in NSW). Yet our political coverage is federal.

I want to throttle Glady's. She was an awesome Transport minister and actually got the portfolio. Then we have this stupid beyond belief plan to spend 20 Billion dollars to terminate the Bankstown line at Yagoona and make it a Metro (single story) service..
I never thought I would say I wouldn't want a massive transport spend in Bankstown, but it's the worst idea I have seen in ages. Truth be told on other issues they actually do far better and the state gov puts their federal colleagues to shame in the Brains department.

The idiot in the USA effects us. I just don't see a solution that we can solve. Scromo however can be cured probably with a cream or a personality transplant. ... Actually I take that back, he has way to much sharks in him to be fixed.

One thing i’ll say for you Col, you don’t outwardly panic like Individual One, who has a meltdown every few days. You are staunch.

Slomo's Office weren't informed that Broad had been caught with his pants down in HK which had the potential to reduce his numbers by one. We are to believe he found this out by reading New Idea.

To make matters worse, Broad won't pay the women her fee. While we've only read the Government side of the matter, how long will it be before New Idea or a media outlet pays the woman for her story!

Sounds like you give yourself a stroke every time Trump turns up in the news.
Help me... I broke apart my insides,
Help me... I've got no soul to sell;
Help me... The only thing that works for me,
Help me get away from myself...

Not me mate. Those days have long gone.

I do get amused when I see some people on here sprouting the fake news put out by CNN, ABC, MSNBC. Common sense should tell you that what they are saying about president Trump could not possibly be true.

I guess that's why 92 percent of republicans, 79 percent of independents and even 54 percent of democrats don't trust the news organisations in America.

It appears the same can't be said for this forum.

Hopefully things may improve over the next six years. One can only hope.

What I find really odd is this "news put out by CNN, ABC, MSNBC.".
I know Australians that watch FOX, and it's hopeless. It's communist propaganda fake. Anyway
I barely check CNN, usually disagree with MSNBC and do not see the American ABC. Really I don't see any of these news outlets.

Americans might watch the news articles above. I don't. Occasionally I get sent a Washington post article. I usually tune into the Guardian and the Intercept.

If you seriously think that Fox is communist, then you are truly in need of an intervention. You my friend have big problems.
