Labuschagne is so far proving to be the debacle it seemed on paper. 10 overs of expensive leg spin. So worth not picking a batsman.
He reminds me of Steve Smith. In early tests was a crap leg spinner and decent number 9 batsman.

Labuschagne shows the same ability.

Safe to say India are only planning on batting once.

I hope I’m wrong but he looks world’s away from even a young Steve Smith.

Next question , keepers : the worst batch we have had since the Steve Rixon /Wayne Phillips days ??
Since happy cast iron gloves tiger..

Paine has been very good behind the stumps..
Yeah , but I think the captaincy is affecting his performances

They were not good either but Ray Bright kept on getting picked when he did nothing.I hate to seem being paranoid but he was a Victorian when often that seemed to be the difference in getting selected

Ray bright wasn't good , but he was highly rated by Ian Chappell with his cricket knowledge , very similarly along the lines of Mike Brearley

Murray Bennett comes to mind when I think of Ray Bright skill wise

Talking of offies who were highly under rated , Bruce Yardley comes to mind , good gully fieldsmen , handyish with the bat

Marnie biggest issue in my opinion is he rushes too much and is trying to bowl too quick , he needs to flight the ball more

The other thing I wanted to mention , is all the talk about bringing the fields up ............twenty years ago I would of agreed ...... that was until I recently had a swing with a young nephew's modern cricket bat in a muck around in the nets

It looked like it would weigh close to 3 pound and weighed far less than the bat I actually did use

Even when you don't catch it great the ball just flies off the bat

The modern day test cricketer is easily going to clear mid on /mid off even if he catches it badly

I know Tim Paine isn't a top class batsmen , but you could've driven a yacht through the gap between bat and pad

Technique wise , absolute garbage

Bloody ScoMo could have played it better

He’s the worst Keeper/Batsmen Australia has had in the last 30 years. Offers nothing with the bat. He’s lucky to be in the side at all, let alone captain it.

Scary thing is that one of the Fox commentator's said a few tests ago said he had the best technique of the entire Top 7

Are you kidding

They just showed the over leading up to his dismissal .......he is stuck on his crease ......don't know about others but was always taught facing a spinner your first movement is always front foot .....the ball that bowled him he should of been on the front foot smothering the spin
