Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Better front rower in the modern game, simple as that.

Played strong in a contract year, and now has gone back to playing ordinary.
That was proven wrong last year.
He did not play as a third prop.
It seems Madge and occasionally Kimmorley used him well.
When he played prop, that was Sheens influence.

There must be more to this you don’t just release a player you just extended for 2 more years if you don’t have to
Have you looked at who our coach is? If we were paying freight for the next 2 years it would be history repeating.

So we are clearing the decks but for who, we only resigned the bloke last year. Despite Fulton being here we still have the same muppets rubber stamping things in the front office. I have no faith we will replace him either directly like for like or even indirectedly like for a half or a centre.
We cleared the decks last year and bought in nobodies, we loaned out players and left ourselves short i have no faith.
If the club wanted rid of whats considered a bad deal moneywise why did they resign him and on so much, its just more poor management over and over again. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong but history tells me i wont be.
Well said and that is the problem. It is always the problem.

Offa not having a great year and Parra really want him so fine but I'm sick of helping out other clubs and getting NOTHING in return would could really use a center and /or a playmaker so Mr Brad Arthur do a deal Penesini ? Simonson ? Dunster ? or your son ?
We don't give without getting
Why on earth would we want Jake Arthur here?

If the Joffa story has legs, probably a good decision for a squad with reasonable forward depth, but suffering from the long term missing Doueihi and lack of strike in outside backs.

Supposedly we have some cap space to at least attempt to fill those deficiencies, but no top 30 spot to offer after elevating Bula. Don't see Joffa as a critical player to keep, so it makes sense if he is willing to go and dollars okay.

None of us fans want our WT paying anything from our cap to those moved onto other clubs, but most, if not all clubs are doing just that.

Probably. I like Joffa in the squad. I just see all the madge signings being moved on. Classic move to disrupt them by playing them out of position. Form and morale then drops making it easier for the club to make their move.
They are not just Madge signings. They are Pascoe signings as well and he is covering arse.

If we are letting Joffa leave for nothing (which it looks like)it is just another sign that Sheens is the worst person to be in charge of our club.Obviously 2 wins from 10 games with a reasonable squad is not enough to show he has completely lost his marbles
We are playing far better this year than last despite the losses.

It’s clear our halves are a problem and that is being addressed by the club. Even an average half will create opportunity behind what our forward pack is delivering.

Maguire didn’t do any better. I don’t think the coaches are the issue.

We had enough Cap Room spare to offer Moses $1.3, what does releasing Ofahengaue achieve?
We may have something up our sleeve. Sheens keeps the media away by openly saying we are looking at certain players. He gives them what they want and they back off…remember the Naden signing? It happened overnight and nobody knew about it until it happened. There could be something on the cards…let’s wait and see

If it is true that we are playing better this year than last, then that must mean every team is as well.
Coming into round 12 last year we were also on 8 losses, however we had 3 wins and that was with a worse team due to injuries.

I mean the ladder kind of suggests that is the case... the comp is very close this year !!! If we had a decent set of halves or even a decent half we would be 3-4 wins better for it imo

If we had decent coaches that would be possible as well.

Yeah and we ended the season on 4 wins and got pumped 72-6 by the Roosters. Most tipped us not to win another game, but I guess that one win over the struggling Broncos really showed them how good we are in the back half of the season.

I would back this mob over last years mob any day.

Don't worry, you'll get Lee on radio soon enough putting his foot in his mouth. If they have a deal in the works I'd prefer they keep it under wraps and I fully expect they do, targeting a back.

The plan is to bring Blore in and hope he is ready for the step up. His spot in KOE will be filled soon enough by someone showing promise in Flegg.

We've seen very recently a plan to target positions of need with our juniors and I think Joe leaving will allow us to do the same with our firsts squad.

Also pretty clear that most of Maguire's team don't fit the plans of the club. Joe, Ken, Hastings, Garner, that bench 9 with knee issues and a much lesser extent Freebairn, Dias all gone from last year's team. There's probably some others I've forgotten too.
The only reason Freebairn and Dias played NRL last year is because the Club released Leilua and Mikaele mid season.
There's a pattern there 🤔

No doubt mate. We have dominated most teams in all areas except scoring points. Fix that and we start winning games.

I’m glad we put a couple of wins together to keep morale up. It would have been tragic to lose the Penrith or Saints games because we definitely could have at the death in both games.

We fought hard against Souths, but the inability to convert our possession into points was obvious.

I think we have a good chance against the Cowboys if we turn up like the last 6 weeks. I just worry about where the points will come from, but we’ll be in the game for sure!
