Daine Laurie #237

Liked his game but hasn't always been good defensively, anyways should be given a chance with Brooks.

Adds spark.

Probably looking for a contract .

But maybe elsewhere.

Wakeham's inability to read the game and see that Ravalawa was injured and exploit that side cost us the game in my opinion.
Daine played well and tried to ignite a backline that is pedestrian. Junior Tupou needs a rest and put Staines or Naden on our wings with Brooks back and we could win a few before the season ends.
How does a player on one leg score to beat us ????
Love this club, but kills me at the same time..

What? He created on the left edge many times in the 2nd half. It was made hard for him because Cummins continually gave Saints penalties coming out if their end. So we started most our sets on our line. One set we didn't Wakeham dropped the ball early. Laurie definitely put in all 80 minutes. Hid defence was aggressive right to the end too
With a better left centre we win that game. Tommy Talau had no idea what he was doing. Laurie gave him so many opportunities to create something.

Did anyone see this performance at 5/8 coming? I think early on, I wanted Daine to be tried ata 5/8 but his performance was Walker-esque. He was strong in D too. I was keen to see him there but wow he surprised me.

Now that I see this Penrith news (even though it's been speculated for a couple of weeks), it truly upsets me again. Not that we are losing him, but the fact that he played one of his best games for us in 2 seasons as an audition for Penrith instead of wanting to contribute to us.

Depressing..

Should have been given an opportunity earlier. Got dropped after a poor game and yet others consistently get picked for equally poor performances. Terrible management of a player that has ability - was one of the first picked last season - and at a club that is struggling to fill a position that he is capable of playing.

You've gotta ask why this theme is continually repeated? When Brooks came up against a Cleary led Panthers he played an exceptional game, and likewise on his 200th. In fact every player that day played from the heart and wanted Brooks to go out a winner from his beloved Tigers.

He was playing for his 1 year contract last night then hahaha.....
Think he was signed b4 last nite...its where his heart has always been, but no future there except for rep games and injuries.
..and no big $$$
Wasted 3 years of our time, but more importantly now 4 years of his career at a critical time
