Latu Fainu #282

The club needs to take a long-term approach to get Latu's hamstring issue sorted. Even if it means seeking hamstring specialists & a few months rehab until he can fully load it & sprint at 100%.

From today's DT (Brent Read):

Fainu, in particular, is a major concern for the Tigers given he has endured ongoing issues with his hamstring. The Tigers delayed his start to the season as he struggled with injury in the preseason but it is understood he has suffered a recurrence of the problem, leaving his immediate future in doubt.

He did not look ok in the short time he was on. Didn’t run at all, just catch n pass. Made a lot of tackles in his short stint as runners targeted him and did a good job.

Read somewhere he's ruled out for the weekend and Galvin also picked up a hand injury

Off to the USA? to see Turbo's Guru to get those hammys fixed

I don't know why we rushed this kid back, he was clearly struggling with being 100% fit imo it's only doing him more harm than good. Hammy's can become chronic as we've all seen with a few other players.

This is how they trained this morning, Galvin is in
visible discomfort with his hand strapped up but
will be good to go. Olam/api didn't train, klem rest.
Bud worries me. We were doing kick drills and he
doesn't get near enough under the ball. It's not going
high nor long and he got charged down. Really hope
he can step it up. Feel terrible 4 Latu hopefully back
in next week regardless of the result, he looks okay

The kid either needs rest, if his hammy is an issue, work on it and get him right. Then give him a few games playing half in cup. It's absolutely disgraceful how he's been mismanaged so far this season. He's played at hooker and lock in first grade, after two mins-restricted half matches in Cup.
How on earth is this supposed to develop one of the best young halves going around? He's not a forward, should not be playing there yet, let him get fitness and form in his natural position then work on his utility if needed.

it's literally how Hook ruined Sullivan's career before it got off the ground. Richardson and Marshall need to play the long game and stick Simpkin at 14 or run four forwards off the bench.
