Seeing the fact a certain forum member has mentioned he likes pies (and the fact the Mrs hasn't shown up back from the shops with some rolls lol ) was wondering where you get your favourite pies and what they are

For me I have a few favourite places , unfortunately none are in my current town

Travellers Rest at Gin Gin , yellow building opposite the toilet block on the national Highway scallops and chorizo absolutely beautiful

Little take away shop on Gap Creek Rd at The Gap chicken pies , we used to start work early so we could pick them at smoko because there were none left by lunch

Almost saw a punch up over these pies once , gives you an idea how good they were

Port Douglas Bakery just your basic pies with peas just beautiful

What's your favourite

You can't beat a great meat pie. I was down in Berrima last weekend and went into a bakery, Guy behind the counter said they had just been reviewed by 2UE. Was a little disappointed.

There's also a bakery in Umina that claims to sell the worlds hottest meat pie. You have to sign a waver to eat it.

20 minutes north of the Gold Coast - Yatala Pie Shop - middle of an industrial area near Beenleigh (Lock your cars, lads!) but it's pretty amazing.

and when I was in NSW - Robertson Pie shop - great place to stop if you are doing a drive to the Southern Highlands.

Both of them are absolutely off the hook.

The Humpty Dumpty take away in Humpty Doo. Steak & Kidney for me, and the chicken pie for my Missus. Best I've tried anywhere, although I haven't had one since they moved premises. The Bark Hut's pies are also good.

Yatala is bloody good

I was leaving that one for my southern counterparts

The pie shop you mentioned Geo , where is it actually ??

Clemton Park Cake Shop Address
208c William St
Clemton Park NSW 2206

Fredo's at Frederickton also rates a mention…

The worst Pies that everyone should avoid like the plague is Heatherbrae's Pies just DON'T...spew

The bakery across the road from the pub in Kangaroo Valley. Best pies ever.

Yatala Pies for me as well , Brilliant .

Pretty sure the Travellers Rest still will freeze and deliver their pies

Don't quote me though , that was a few years ago when I saw the article

I still buy frozen Big Ben pies from Woolies.
A bit of nostalgia because you used to get them at Leichardt many many years ago.

I've never tried one CQ , but know heaps who rave about Cranston's pies

Have you ever had one mate ??

Indian cricket team pies.

Other than that Pie in the Sky at Cowan along the Pacific Highway.
A good pit stop for pies but way too far to go there otherwise
So I just have to settle for the local bakery or Mrs Macs

Fredo's pies are the overall best I reckon. Plenty of varietals, all good.

Was recently on hols at Tea Gardens and the local bakery had an incredible "oyster kilpatrick" pie. Amazing, but not for the traditional steak lovers.

For those in the Gold Coast region who like Yatala Pies, you should try Quinney's a bit further south at Burleigh. Biggest, tenderest chunks of meat I've ever tried.
