A must-listen edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast! This pod was recorded after meeting with the man leading the Wests Tigers Review, Gary Barnier. Everything you want to know about the review is covered in this edition. Don't miss it! https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/wests-tigers-podcast-0290/
Thanks for the update helmesy.
Interesting to hear Kelly say that 100% of those interviewed by Gary Barnier had concern about the way the club is going.
I realise we will never know, but would be nice to know if there were any insiders sharing that view. 😁

I have questioned the timing, but as long as the review doesn’t drag out too long and continue to allow journalists to drag the clubs name even further through the mud while waiting on an outcome, the findings should be interesting and provide anyone with an interest in the Wests Tigers some clarity.
It is surely a no brainer to extend the contract of To’a who is undoubtedly our best tackle busting, try scoring centre who is now approaching the prime of his career. He would have been snapped up by other clubs if we didn’t re-sign him, so a very good decision to get on the front foot with his re-signing.
Bradman Best would be a great addition to our team, but mark my words we are no chance of signing him for the $800,000 per season figure that we are reportedly offering him.
It will cost us a minimum of 1 million per season to even be a chance of signing him. I think most would agree he’s not a 1 million per season type of player, so we either have to pay overs to land a big name player, aim a bit lower in our recruitment targets or put our faith in the centres we currently have.
In regards to young Conti rumoured to be heading to the Bulldogs. He’s put a strong resume together as a young 16y.o prospect and of course it would be good to keep him and see how he develops with us, but I think it’s likely there is a lot more than meets the eye in regards to the negotiations and what his camp is expecting from us.
Don’t forget he’s 16 and not of the same physical or athletic stature of Latu Fainu, Lachlan Galvin, Heath Mason or Onitoni Large.
That is not to say he doesn’t potentially have better game management attributes than the above named players, but if he is to become a regular, dominant NRL halfback, it’s unlikely to happen within the next 4 years, therefore he’s quite a while off demanding a top 30 roster position.

Further in your article for the new pod you call the DT article unprofessional but then go on to highlight you will discuss Bradman Best info which info came from the DT.

Which is it?

Because it’s content to discuss for the Podcast. Nobody made comment on the validity or lack thereof of the rumor.

Is there talk of Best coming to Wests? That would be sweeeeeeeet!

Do you believe he will come for 800k ?
Absolutely no chance unless we offer him above 1 million per season.
It still could be worth it, just to please all the whinging fans who love to say we don’t sign any big name players, not sure what you call Api and Papali’i as they are big names in my estimations.
