I think we’re going to get a better sense of where the team is at next trial. The second half was basically a mixture of state cup and flegg players for both sides so it doesn’t really tell us much apart from the fact a few of a younger guys aren’t ready for grade.

Apparently Roostes will name full strength team next week minus Walker and Tedesco, I think Robbo said.

It's going to be another brutal one.

They were on fire the second half our young ones did ok to hold on like they did

Yeah this is a huge concern.
We will lose players to further injury this year.
We will lose players to Covid this year.
Some of these guys will have to step up at stages.

There is normally a significant difference when you play a promising young player with a senior squad rather than what we saw in second half yesterday.

You do find a occasional diamond that way but of course your need a solid senior squad and …… ???

Have faith though, first game, he'll go well as the season unfolds.

Manly is consistently a top 8, if not... top 4 team.

They schooled us in every aspect last night, even their third string lads.

Hat trick Vaega who we will probably never see again showed Nofo how a winger competes.

Made myself to watch it again this morning and took zilch from the experience ….. so nothing additional positive to add.

I thought the Peach looked good in attack and only ok In defence. Just what was expected. Interesting that he was first receiver quite a bit. not sure he starts in the pack in a competitive game

The ref allowed the eagles to lay all over us and really slowed the play the ball.

Yep - trials a really good time for coaches to test the referees and what they can get away with. The big Manly blokes def slowed down the play but it seemed to not be an issue with ref so smart play.

It will be interesting how things pan out with Hastings and Laurie in the fold.

Liddle and Peachy ball service was way off, hopefully as they settle down and get more game time things improve.

Gotta laugh. Ogden was one of the pin up boys over the off season. Everyone was so glad he was retained. Now he’s hopeless. This is why you do not fawn over guys that haven’t debuted. The amount of disappointment you set yourself up for in those situations is crazy.
