LIVE GAME Trial 2 V Roosters..

Live Game Discussion
He needs to make it through his banner 1st
Reminds me of Sterling in that Origin game in the US all those years ago..Probably keep mentioning it in the same time frame into the future..

His long kicking stinks, a good halfback can find the grass at least once a game! Not only does he continually hit the wingers and fullback on the chest with his kicks, he doesn't put them high enough to give his chasers any chance to compete or make the tackle instantly.

Someone needs to guide the team out on the field - we should be working towards certain parts of the field at all times and should be setting up plays a lot more than we do near the tryline. If he's the halfback that is in fact up to him

A few times he had men open wide and went short to a marked player, when he did try throw a long ball it hit the floor (long passing is a big weakness of his). Hastings managed to put Seyfarth over, I can't recall Brooks even putting anyone in a little bit of space at all.

We definitely have other holes in the squad, our roster is average as but once fully fit I think Doueihi at 6 and Hastings 7 is the way to go as long as Hastings can perform at a good level himself
Worst halfback in the comp ..only a shit club like ours would persevere with such a useless player for so long … punt him

Having played the position it’s not easy when you’re playing on the back foot and you don’t have class around you.

If you need your entire team to do good to perform good, you probably suck. Every player in the league will look better if they're surrounded by quality

Good players can turn momentum with a good kicking game. Long kick into the in goal, a 40/20, stuff like that. Not just the same kick to the fullback on the chest

That’s not what I said. I elluded to the fact we have a real lack of representative quality players who can make up for any of Brooks’s shortcomings.

And what I'm saying is it shouldn't take a bunch of rep players to cover for your crappy halfback... your halfback should just be better.

Obviously a bunch of rep players would make his job easie, he'd have a much better time if he could just pass to Teddy all the time like he used to haha

Anyway I hope he and Hastings can become a killer combo and lead us to glory!

when its bad you kick a long kick and find the line so your crappy team can be at the other end. but no you kick out on the full and its because you dont have class players on your team

G'day @hank37w I've just finished having a look at the YouTube replay of Friday's game and imo Tamou had a very much improved game.
He was much more energetic than I had seen from him in any game last year, and I even noticed he was directing the players beside him at one stage.
In other words imo he played a much improved and much needed Captain's game.
Hi @MAGPIES1963.

Thanks for airing you thoughts in a highly respectful manner as you always do.

You are right in that it was one of Tamou's better performances and I have to say that I was very much in favour of us signing him for 2 seasons especially at around the 300 - 350k mark that was widely reported.

The main reason for my post was that I initially thought that he may be suspended for 2-3 weeks and seeing as this is his final year and that I see no prospect of us signing him beyond this season that it was the perfect opportunity for someone to take the opportunity to step up and make that spot theirs.

I feel that we need to be building towards next year and that James Tamou should probably not be part of that at the expense of a player that is more likely to be here.

I feel that even though he was announced as one of the 5 leadership team/captains that it was not a great move by the club and that James should spend the rest of the year outside of the 17 and should only be used as a depth player to cover injury and suspensions.

We’d need a team full of immortals to make up for Brooks’s short comings
Can we start with just one or two mate? Thomas Mikaele, Junior Pauga, Luke Garner, Alex Seyfarth. Any of these blokes going down in the annals of rugby league history? You could throw these blokes the most sublime pass of your life and they’d probably drop it. Put a kick on a dime and nobody would be there to catch it. It’s a team game.

Brooks had Moses , Tedesco and Farah once upon a time and he still sucked ..
Newcastle dodged a bullet !

There are no examples of premierships being won by a team without stars. None. People need to understand we won’t win with this team, and it ain’t on the half.
