Melbourne Storm Round 1 Predicted Squad

Please Dear Lord, can you make it happen that To'a plays against the Storm 🤞🙏

The only way to beat the storm is to muscle up in the forwards.
I suspect the whole bench will be forwards. If Madge decides to have one reserve back then I believe it will be To'a who can cover C, W and fulback.
Peach can cover hooker, back row and ½s
We should just use cocane for the line markings instead of paint, the Storm guys will be on hands and knees snorting all game.

Well the talk will be leading into the Game about storm not losing there Round 1 clash.
When you also look at our Round 1 results we have won 7/10 which is a good record.
Both teams down on Players which will make the result closer than one thinks.
The Storm generally score 22 points and Tigers score 20 in round 1.
Defense will be the key Storm concede 13 Tigers 22 round 1.
Currently you can get 11.5 points start for the Tigers at the line????
Questions - Has our D improved enough to keep the storm to around 16 points???
Noting that Melbourne lost both trials leading into this season, 30-18 Warriors / 24-10 knights.
Conclusion - Tigers can Win probable score 20 - 16 but certainly take the 11.5 start.
Note one win over weaker opposition does not make finals but it helps against a consistant top 4 side as we know we tend to lose the games we are suppose to win.

I’ve heard on a podcast he did an ankle in pre season training.
Thanks mate, finally someone has said something, he was injured Sept last year but thought there would have to be another reason he's not been seen, once again our media group are slack. What reason would there be to keep info from members, poor form.

Mate that's a pretty good summary. Over how many years have you averaged out that we score 20 points in round 1?
Love that sort of trivia 👍

Only did it over the last 10 years hence 7/10.
Our D would be better but in 13 we lost 42-10 Knights / 14 we lost 44-24 Dragons.
We lost Round 1 last year 30-12 Canberra prior 6 years we had won every opening game.
Saw enough with General Hastings that we will genuinely compete this season and he will lead the team around and give some direction.

Good stuff

I'm torn between Roberts and To'a, but I want To'a in there even on the bench to cover centre wing and fullback.

2. Noffa
3. To'a
4. Gildart
5. Maumalo
6. Hastings
7. Brooks [C]
8. Utoikamanu
9. Simpkin
10. Twal
11. Leilua
12. Tuilagi
13. Peachey
14. Musgrove
15. Seyfarth
16. Ofahengue
17. Thomas Mikaele

Wests Tigers are fuming that Storm superstar Brandon Smith has been cleared to play in Saturday night's big round one clash on Saturday night.

The fuse has been lit for a fiery clash, with the Tigers convinced that the glamour Storm club has been given preferential treatment by the NRL.

Smith and Storm teammates Cameron Munster and Chris Lewis were all banned for one match for off-field misbehaviour following the club's exit from last year's finals.

Kiwi Smith wasn't selected in the February 12 All Stars game as officials assumed he was ineligible due to the suspension.

But the Storm subsequently applied for the game to count as Smith's suspension after judiciary chairman Geoff Bellew ruled that it could be included in Souths ace Latrell Mitchell's suspension.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo used his powers to align Smith's suspension imposed by the integrity unit with Bellew's ruling.

"They (Melbourne) have got away with one and it's bulls--t," a senior Tigers source told Wide World of Sports.

"How can a game that only some players are eligible for count towards a suspension?"

If Smith was not a Maori or an Indigenous player, he would not have got off and he would be sitting on the sidelines in round one.

"How is this fair? The NRL now says it is looking into it - that doesn't do us any good," the source added.

"Our boys are all fired up, I can tell you."

We must use this “haves v have nots” mentality to fire up and come out swinging. Fibros v Silvertails type stuff.
We can also use this as motivation to put him off his game. Get in his ear on the field about what a disgraceful junkie he is.
I reckon Hastings has the mongrel in him to do this.

Boo him every time he gets the ball

Lol this club of pillows hasn’t fired up for the best of 9 years … why would Saturday night be any different?

I’ll believe it when I see it
