Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm glad he didn't come back. What he, Moses and Tedesco planned with the Bulldogs was low. And to look for a return at the end of his career was weak. Newsflash: if you'd stayed instead of dogging it, you wouldn't

Seems like one of the better Manly juniors.
Westfield Sports High and Guildford junior. I read the Manly forum and one poster indicating his link to Wayne Lambkin at Westfields Sports High and Sheens' high regard for Lambkin had much to do with it. We seem to be assembling quality young props.

Surely they mean Magpies?

Why would he leave Manly on a NRL contract to join the Wests Tigers on a reserve grade contract, if he is coming it's for a NRL contract. If he comes here it's to have a crack at NRL playing time and he will give Mikale and others a run for their money that's for sure.

If true not a bad pickup, junior reps, prop, 20-21yrs old could become a good rotation partner with big Stef

Has another sniff of Sheens/Wayne Lambkin partnership all over it if it happens.

something from Wests Tiger FB page……

Regarding the post below about some rumbling in the club.
Scott Woodward handed in his own resignation last week to the Tigers. He came from the Storm system, and has been with us since 2019. He has instrumentally played hardball in turning recruitment policy around and not allowing to pay overs for players in desperate times. It has taken him 3 years to turn our cap into a positive, he has been a miracle maker.
He put forward from the beginning of his tenure, that his data analytics of each player in the NRL, NSW Cup, JFlegg, SG Ball, H Matt’s is what you recruit from, and the worth every player is, is based on their data. He has been holding the club accountable over the years to not go against this. The moneyball approach I call it. When the club has been desperate to recruit, Scott will at times say no, as it doesn’t match up to his mathematical data analytics. He has taken the hard approach and has won us great things in the background (salary cap fixed for one)

He spends 80 hours a week watching every game for all clubs as above, and produces data- that’s massive!!!!

At a few games, he has called the game to me. With his knowledge of analysis, he would tell me that through data, a try should happen within the next 4 minutes because of what happened previously. Unbelievable!! He was correct.

He was not pushed out of the club. It was his choice to move on.

He is a great friend of mine and we see each other weekly. He will be sorely missed at the club, he is a very clever cookie.

Here is the talent that he Identified personally that came to the club.

Strangely enough we got Christian Ma'anaima from a Knights Top 30, yet he is only train and trial at this point. We have some good young props if we do get him. Just need a few to kick on now!

Can’t believe the bulldogs are looking to sign another backrower on big $.

For that to happen,Dogs wld have to offload the $850k pom's contract which is current thru 2023,i....ideally (for him)o another local Sydney club ...that cld only be WTs!!
If we paid 7 months of this year and all of 2023...he may represent fair value in a position we cld benefit..so long as we dont extend his contract at this ridiculous rate beyond 2023 which he wanted when we first spoke with him

Where did Niukore go, Warriors? For this season do you know? He would've been a great pick up for us, he was solid as a rock last season playing out of position in the centres, he could've filled a big hole for us there. Not sure on his attack as a centre though but was a gun in defence.
Warriors decided to pay him 800k a season.

Sure he's a decent player, but he's not a game breaker that you'd want a player to be to pay that for him....

I've heard Brooks was on a heavily backended contract that was 670 a season. So the 900k could well be true this year but not a true reflection of his contract. But, really, who would know.
You may have heard that 5-6 years ago.
He has been on a front loaded contract in more recent seasons. We've been under the cap for a while and front loading contracts for the past few years. No chance he's on 900 or a backended deal.

Check the name Laundy. He is the Bulldogs charity gift maker.

I have a suspicion - And you may know BB (Also fine not to say if you do know) But did we pay Mbye out last year? It just seemed like good business to me and something we would (or should) have been looking to do....
There was always suspicion we had some money to spend - and that he was getting shopped, We didn't sign anyone and he was sold to the Dragons.

Something tells me he was paid out the difference between our money and the Dragons money for this year last year?
