Daine Laurie #237

Laurie played like he was more worried about the money he lost the night before.

Not a major stink, but with COVID around and being in an the away teams home town, does it take a genius to work out that it may be best to keep a low profile stick with the team.

They socialise like they play, as a bunch of individuals.

Do you think you got just a little excited with the comparison? It does suggest that something is not right though. Usually 2 blokes going to the pokies at 9pm isn’t an issue. However, if those two blokes happen to be part of a team heading for a spoon season, it’s gonna raise eyebrows.
Is this a normal prematch preparation?
Or did they simply feel the need to get some air?
This is one of the reasons many (not me) on here wanted Dale Finucane in the team. So the players could watch how he grows about his pregame ritual.

That’s BS, if it didn’t happen I’m a mug and happy to call myself that.

But if it’s true then it shows that our club as an organisation isn’t enforcing a team first culture and setting clear rules.

We played two undermanned teams, two games that we should have won, but we conceded again like a limp dick.

Its been discussed for 5 pages ad naseum whether it was the right or wrong thing to do. Even the club has said it didn't have an issue .. I suppose people just want to express themselves thats cool I havent got a problem with it

🤣🤣 what possible agenda could I have?
It’s not my opinion, it’s the opinion of the wider population. We are favourites for the spoon with the betting agency.

I like the angle that Roberts had a good win, which aided his performance.

Perhaps Wests Ashfield can setup a lucky machine for him to play before future games.
That would actually be a neat way to set up TPAs. Let's get Munster and Cam Murray to sign with us for $100k but they magically win $50,000 a week in pokies at Wests Ashfield. Surely the machines can be rigged so the house loses!

Professional players across all sports understand that their bread and butter is based on their performance.

How about they use that time to relax, have a good meal, and concentrate on their mental alertness for the game.

If you think that hanging out at a pub and playing the pokies the night before is going to help with on field performance you‘re wrong.

Explain to me the difference between playing the pokies at a pub or playing playstation at home?

You get different personalities in a footy team. Some guys are super focussed early in the week while others are still mucking around in the warm up. I’m not one to say there is one way to prepare. But here we have a guy with long-term known attitude issues and a guy who is young and impressionable. At a club with a known losing culture. I think the boys should have stayed in and focussed on their job on the field.

It’s just another example of low standards at WT.
