It is no crime.....but it sure is bad optics.

These days....players just need to be as professional as they can. Bad optics do matter....particularly in the state our club is presently in. Getting on the punt is a vice.....and doing it in a public place the night before a game is not great.

Our club need to be doing as much right as they can.
So if they were out with their partners, would this be an issue too? In my 52 years this is seriously the stupidest non issue beat up ever. And I mean EVER.

I can't believe anyone is buying into this. It means nothing, but I finally cancelled my Foxtel today in protest. It means nothing biut they join my personal banned list with Telstra, Allianz Insurance and Westpac.

I've also heard that Jake Simpkin didn't brush his teeth properly before bed last night. That's Madges fault and indicative of a bad culture. Move over Burgess, deBelin and others, tomorrow's news on Fox will be Colgate-gate.

Also has premiership rings and kangaroos jerseys. My OP in this thread was that it’s not a crime, just another example of WT low standards. I was one of the biggest critics of signing Roberts initially and he’s doing little to prove me wrong.

I’ve had my say and will leave it there. Hope he scores a hat trick this week making me look silly 🤡
Just as well

So rep players are allowed to do this but others aren't? 🤣🤣🤣
You're already looking silly without a Roberts hat trick

They didn't drink, were back by 10pm and Jet had arguably his best game for us.. That being said still not a great look

No one is alleging they did anything wrong, its an attitude thing. We got pumped and to add a bit of fuel to the fire, a couple players were at the pub the night before. Even if they don’t mention them drinking, the pub itself draws negative connotations. They could have easily been at a restaurant, but that wouldn’t not have made the news, because there is no negative way to spin eating dinner.
Parramatta dinners with @Demps Outlaw mates?

Hold the phone peeps.. this has escalated..it's now an ENGULFING SCANDAL..

‘They’re grown men’
Benji and Kenty have clashed over the ‘storm in a teacup’ pokies scandal engulfing the Tigers
👀

Is there actual games of Rugby League anymore these guys could report on..

It's actually quite amazing how many careers our game sustains off the field, especially commentary. They can spin shit for days

Not sure if everyone is aware of this but it is in players contracts (i know for sure for international cricket players, not sure about NRL) that they can't play any other sports or do stunk seeking activities while employed (so for e.g. they can't go bungee, sky diving, car racing tracks etc). The only exception from memory is golf and table tennis.
That's great news for Roosters.

Its not engulfing anything except for maybe roberts.. It’s almost as if the media want him to fall apart. I can’t imagine it easy for someone with the issues Roberts has, to stand up to the public hammering. Targeting him publicly is poor form.
Kent and Hooper may have an exclusive

James Roberts actually got the cork from hitting the corner of the poker machine on his way out, not in the first few minutes of a game some 14 hours later.

Win this week and most of this garbage disappears for at least a week.

Surprising that the Terrorcrap did not send a contingent to the Great Northern to place beer bottles, lines of coke, etc around said pokies then urinate and defecate on the floor to make their non-story into a Slothfield click-bait exclusive. Just like last year when "journalists" were perving on Roberts when he stepped out of his hotel room onto his balcony. Champagne journalism!

Its been discussed for 5 pages ad naseum whether it was the right or wrong thing to do. Even the club has said it didn't have an issue .. I suppose people just want to express themselves thats cool I havent got a problem with it
The club should have an issue with it. The fact they don't is a major concern in itself.

Our player lack professionalism, they lack the desire to improve, they treat the club as an easy paycheck. Hence this attitude of being soft, going through the motions.

We're not talking some random tuesday night, we're talking the night before a crucial game.

Perhaps the club did have an issue with it, which caused the players to go off the boil in protest?
Perhaps that is why Pascoe was sitting with players pregame, to help placate the players?
Laurie’s form was pathetic the following day. OTOH, Jet had a reasonable game with some effort plays.

I don

I don't see effort and desire 100% on the field, I agree there. But to link it to a pub visit the night before, not drinking, really really long stretch.

And if we won, it's no longer unprofessional? It either us or it isn't.

If they were at the pub not drinking, but watching 30 for 30 on the big screen still unprofessional?

What if it was 4pm and not 10pm? Still unprofessional?

Makes no sense. Not drinking, no illegal or immoral activity. Jog on.
