This is really sad and my take is that we as a society need to do a lot more to allow people to take heroin and other hard drugs and live.

In stating all of that he is drummer and in that role he is easily replaceable. I'm not worried about the band continuing on if they want too. The emotional impact of a death is much worse than the loss of a drummer.

It is a tragic loss and i dont want to trivialise it any way or start an arguement but to say a drummer can be easily replaced is complete bs and doing him disrespect.The "heart and soul" or "engine room" if you prefer in any decent band is your drummer and bassist.The other players usually get all the laurels but those 2 keep it all together.

Very weird all these heart attacks for middle aged people lately.

It really isn’t.

Happens to 50-60 people per day in Australia alone, many of them ‘only’ in their 50s.

Rolling Stones, SCG, 1995 I said for a long time was the best gig I’d ever seen. That was until Foo Fighters at Homebush around 2012 I think. 3 hours, 7 encores. DG the complete showman and the on stage banter pure entertainment. Taylor Hawkins such a loss. Will take time to recover. If that’s possible.

My fave was Foo Fighters at Metricon Stadium on the Goldy. Was fat and away the best show I’ve seen. Jack Black in Tenacious D was pretty cool too

I'm disappointed in not seeing Bush the other day as they are probably the band i like the most that I have not seen.

Glad I got to see them at Soundwave in 2015. That was a bumper of a bill that year. Soundgarden, Faith No More, Marilyn Manson, Steel Panther, Smashing Pumpkins, Slash and Miles Kennedy, Slipknot.

According to authorities he had 10 different drugs in his system. I was reading a Rolling Stone interview with him this afternoon from last June right before they started touring again after Covid. The topic of his past addictions came up and he was asked how he was doing now, and he got a little defensive, replying with something along the lines of “do I look okay to you?”. Makes me wonder if he relapsed during lockdown. That was a pretty shit period for a lot of people.

His drumming suits them, and is harder / weirder than it seems it would be.
Mustaine is a Nazi though - he’s sacked a pot load of great drummers… and the rest have run cos he’s a goose.
Every time I hear him bag another musician I wish I could slap him and make him listen to his own singing…
