I dunno. I think most would consider him to be a good coach, but we nonetheless absolutely loathe the guy. At the time he was a genius. On the Bus was magic.
But ultimately what he did to us truly set us back.
He made some real poor recruitment decisions. Sure, every team does, but when he left us, it was in a deep salary-cap quagmire and because we kinda believed in him there was a visceral reaction. He did the dirty. It wasn’t cool. It’s still not cool.
But still, he’s not a bad

True, we are operating under the cap but it is still not balanced in terms of player input equity. Why have a short winger who doesn’t jump for the high ball on 4 years at $550k when a hard working prop is on half that?

I am a fan of Madge's and do not envy his situation. Any coach would struggle with this side, they are a reserve grade team at the present, they were never going to make the top 8 this year with the players that they have. Throw injuries in the equation and we will be lucky not to get the spoon.

Their trial form was good. The first 40 minutes of NRL was good, and then they fell in a heap. If they don’t change their attitude I can’t see where they get a win?

I’d say it’s probably best to sack both. Can you honestly say that sitting in last place is acceptable? What Madge has done over three years simply isn’t effective. This shouldn’t be the standard the club accepts.

Well it comes down to , it’s easier to sack one than 17 , and yes u can drop them to reserve grade and bring up kids u will get flogged , and how is that going to solve the problem , RIGHT NOW Madge has lost the dressing room and it ain’t coming back the longer u leave things the worse it will get .

I don't know if Madge has lost the dressing room TBH. The game was on a platter there to win on Friday, they had put in enough effort for their coach to be in an absolute winning position but blew it through poor decisions and basic errors.
IMO if they all don't want to play for Maguire they would've been garbage from the opening kickoff and got flogged.

It's only 3 games, Melbourne we had that game one, Newcastle we didn't show up and the rub of the green didn't go our way, Warriors again game in the bag but couldn't close it out. It's my belief that the teams kicking game is way below what it should be and it shows how much we miss the kicking of Robbie Farrah. I would have thought this would have been worked on in the off season but it hasn't. The continued up and under kicks are proving useless and costly, kick to the corners, kick from dummy half etc and build on that, don't make it so easy for teams to get out of their 20 metres. What I don't want to see is we get to deep into the competition and decisions on selections and coaches get made when it is too late. So far Madge has done noting wrong, it's been all down to the players and their attitude but I do believe we lack the size of most of our opponents. Anyway lets get out there this weekend and give it another go. Cheers Gary

I was referring to a player clean out post-season in preparation for 2023. I was calling for Madge to go. I said that I like him as a person but he’s not getting results and his approach isn’t working.
