Why doesn't Madge throw in the towel?

I understand that contractually he may be financially impacted...and that quitting may not be synonymous with a winner's mindset..but watching the team that you coach day in day out suck the life out of you, and realizing that turning things around is a pipe dream...and considering the damage this does to your reputation, in the short to medium term..why wouldn't you simply hand in your resignation and exit with style rather than wait for what appears to be the inevitable tap on the shoulder?
Note I am not suggesting he does that. Merely wondering what is keeping him there. Still. Could it be that he believes he can turn this ship around, if given the time - and possibly the players? Unfortunately, both WT don't have.

If you understand some people,they have dignity,pride and loyalty...Madge has all three as well as not giving up on the squad and team that are well below NRL standard bar a few....
He is a decent man and has always put his money "where his mouth is"he signed on to do a job and is trying his very best to get that job done...
It would be far better to ask the NRL pretend players to throw the towel in because all they do is emmbarrass themselves,the coach and the club...

He has pride and a work ethic that is top grade , he is not a quitter , but I must say looking at his last interview after last week it’s really starting to show on him , good guy at the wrong place , walking away is not in him , battle to the end is in him , but I feel for his health , stress kills , don’t wish it on anyone

Yeah agree, I’d be more inclined to wonder why some of our players don’t throw in the towel. Absolutely no drive at all.. Collecting a fat pay cheque while fans watch in disdain

JTJ takes every other week off with no consequences. He throws in the towel then picks it back up. Rinse repeat,
 
The blokes a winner won at all he’s previous clubs and he is determined to bring that to the tigers

I heard on a podcast the other day in the off Madge asked permission to sign 3 players and by the time madge had received a reply from the board all players were signed els where

I have faith in Tim sheens and Madge it’s the board I have zero faith in

A winner never quits and a quitter never wins
 
The guy is putting the club, the team, the fans ahead of his own physical and mental health and for that, respect. It’s not working for him and it’s not going to work for him with what he has at his disposal. I hope some of the changes he is now prepared to make get some results in better commitment and performance. He always said he has belief in this squad so he must see something we’re not seeing. I don’t have belief anymore but I have hope that by the time his tenure is up, we have turned a corner. He needs that for his own professional and personal pride.
 
Coming here has turned out a career killer. He could have gone to Manly and coached Turbo. Instead he came here and completely ruined his reputation like most coaches who came before him.

unfortunately madge can’t attract players to come here and the players We do have a lot of them are rejects from other clubs what do u do

He can’t, but who has ever been able to attract players to the club. You can count on one hand the amount of genuine marque players we have signed in 22 years.
 
Our club has a reputation for players sacking coaches. Players running to the board with their grievances. When this started and was allowed to continue, it became part of the club’s culture.
Now we have the media encouraging players , Buzz announced that the players need only run dead two more times to get a different coach. Namely their boy Flanno.
I was happy to see Lee announce an extension to Madge’s contract keeping him until 2023.
It’s time to give Madge another extension.

Except for Ivan who made the big time after using the wests tigers as a stepping stone to further his career 😘
