Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interestingly, both Luki (21) and Nanai (19) were signed by the Cowboys at age 15 and both debuted prior to the club signing Luci. I would think one of them would come off the bench to give Luci a spell?
I’d guess Luki off bench on form. Nanai had a quiet first half last night but is a weapon at 19

Tariq Sims would be the most typical Tigers signing. He's 32 years old.
Our current second rowers probably range from 23-26 and have had a promising year despite the team's performance. I'd say it's also the more diserable range for current NRL teams.
Some considered Finucane too old for us, though he's two years younger. I don't even know who's of similar age tbh to try to make any comparisons. Kaufusi possibly but even he's younger and comes from a good system.

I'd be trying to stay within that age group as otherwise we're just burning money IMO.

Sims is going to Melbourne

Our hardball philosophy of not paying "overs" has stuffed us. Aloiai, Lucy, Kelma would have been our best forwards next year with Stef and Paps. Now we have to pay overs anyway to chase blokes like Tapine , who might still laugh us off.

We need to update our thinking, if Lucy is worth 700, garlic sauce worth 500 or whatever, then that's the market price. It kills me we are UNDER THE CAP and lose these guys.

I was OK with some of these decisions at the time, but I'm not running a football club. If I was I'd expect the axe to fall.
We have been paying overs for Nuffies. The famous Pascoe & Harty recruitment duo.

Can’t lose a player you never had
this discussion comes up all the time
if you bid for something at an auction or whatever you lose out to someone else whether that be a house or what not.
In this case we made a bid for Nannai and lost put to another club, whether that be salary price expectations or length of contract or whatever the fact is he is not coming.
unless we never tabled an offer to nannai if we never tabled any offer or anything to his manager then we never lost nannai

have we lost nanai is he staying at cowboys
Yes make, Naniguy resigned for another year which is perplexing.
He could get injured and his dream for big cash could be over.
We would have swapped him for Lucy but the cowboys played hardball.
Can't fathom it other than he's settled in NQ and wasn't prepared for the transition. 🤔

He’s 19. Big ask for a kid that age to make the move all the way down to Sydney when he’s lived in North Queensland hid whole life.

interesting on westslife podcast they will be having JAC manager on in a few weeks and he will discuss how we missed out of JAC (him Signing with dogs) he hinted a complete club stuff up so should be good listening
I dunno, I get a bit sick of his management blaming us for him not being here. He’s had a couple of shots and being here and passed them up. This narrative of him desperate to come aboard and being frustrated into going elsewhere is wearing thin.
