I'd say we are more in need for a fullback but still holding out for Laurie.

Think recruitment focus should be on second row, 13 and centre.

No way I would shop Doueihi. He needs to be in our side. A leader and assists with the positive culture movement. He can essentially play centre, FB and in the halves.

you would move on Douhie and Brooks for Munster at 6 for sure. Douhiexmay not get back from injury yet and when he does if we are going well it may not even be at 6. Then you have 650k tied up in a centre and 850k to 900k in Brooks
Hastings Munster halves would be unreal
or
move Laurie on and Douhie and play Munster at fullback then when Brooks contract ends Munster plays 6

I'm all for extending Garner, I've never bought into the negativity on him
He's probably our best hole running back rower, his defense has improved out of sight and I always see his enthusiasm when we score, he's first to jump on the scorer and is a cheerleader in our team
Never underestimate that, I recall when we lost Gibbsy, Ryan and Heighno, they took a big part of a positive culture with them and team spirit went backwards
Not saying Garner is the same situation but he looks a real team player to me
If the numerous promising guys deliver maybe they take his spot but I wouldn't undervalue what he brings and has shown for a number of years now

Literally hasn’t made a line break in yonks and plays like a cheerleader

Douhie can't play fb he couldn't when we put him there last time
He can play centre but at 650k ? you could better spend the cash and get a cheaper centre and go after Munster

everyone claims Douhie to be this white knight... him and Hastings may not gel in the halves, he may not come back from injury who knows and whe he does it may be at centre
We only need to carry Brooks for one more year then dont re-sign him after that
it gives us room for Munster

Time will tell, either way it's a mute point as we won't be moving him on.

I can see AD value within the side but he needs to actually lock in his position when he comes back for the rest of the year. If he keeps moving around having a $650k utility is a waste of cap $$$ and he will be in the category of Mbye.

Brilliant for the Knights, with the salary cap looking at being $9.7 Million for top 30 Players in 2023 you can spend $1mil on a top class fullback and still comfortably spend well for the remainder of the cap.

Unless Hastings and Brooks combo continue to shine who knows what will happen to Brooks.

What if AD has to slot into fullback because Laurie is suspended or injured and makes a killing there. To'a makes a killing on the wing and KM can't get a run and... and...and.
We're all guessing because there are too many variables.
What if COVID, injuries and suspension strike?

I do think right centre is made for him.
I just want AD to be given a position and time in it.
Don't want him being moved all over the place.

Madge has been very loyal to JTJ so will be an interesting decision if Laurie/Brooks/Hastings/Simpkin continue the momentum after the Eels game.

Exactly. Munster is still at Melbourne on $1mill in 2023. He's not available until after Brooks's contract is finished

I don’t think anyone sits here and thinks Brooks is a million dollar player.
Just coz he is earning that in his final year doesn’t mean it’s his target salary.
The back pay has inflated things, but the tigers have not signed him on a mill dollar contract like a Tamaulolo or Tedesco.

You forget Munster is one of the better fullbacks in the game, Lost a grand final at Fullback, Has openly stated he prefers fullback.
Hence the talk of him to Newcastle to replace Ponga....
He'd be a godsend to us at the back...

I'd be trying to sweeten the deal by signing his brother Terrell from the Bears (plays prop and doesn't have an NRL contract). He's been the leading prop in KOE this year averaging 185m a match and tackling at 96%

Terrell is a bit of a beast. Played with Blacktown before that. We actually had him in our system start of 2020 but with COVID we lost him. Played in the trail game vs Penrith. One of those names along with Matheson Johns that we recruited for a bit of a difference in the 2nd tier
