I think if we offer Hastings an extension he will stay as he clearly loves been here and the club / fans have welcomed him with open arms.. As long as we don't under ball him and give a good offer he stays and I also think Brooks extends as well but on lower money.
I have been saying for years now Brooks is not a leader and moving him to 6 with a guy like Hastings organising the players he can just relax and play footy. You can just see in his face he is relieved and rightly so.. He doesn't even have to kick goals now as Hastings looks the goods until AD returns.
I will be pissed big time if the club drops the ball and we lose Hastings.

Anyone with inside info know if we are close to getting a decision from Nikora or others ?

Does anyone else get the feeling something is going to happen with Lucy and him staying as he wants to be a starter playing 80mins but the cows have there forwards sorted and he looks to be the bench guy..

Scores winning try, kicks winning field goal, buries second rowers. Don’t see anything special. Hard marker 🤷🏼‍♂️
 
Brooks is playing like the weight of the world has been taken off his shoulders. His passing and kicking hasn't been perfect over the last two games, but it's much better.

If Jackson wasn't suspended for those 3 games, I'm pretty sure we'd be sitting on 8 points. The Warriors and Titans games were ours, Brooks just couldn't execute.

Jackson looks really comfortable driving the side around the park and the points have come.

The only issue is our defence. If we get that right there's no reason we can't push for a spot in the eight.

When Doueihi's back I reckon he starts at centre and then moves to fullback. Laurie is a liability.

I would doubt very much that Lucy would stay because the difference in money would be about 150-200k imo (i doubt the club would offer him more than 550k).He would be a fool to stay with that variation.He is not worth more than Papali'i when he comes next year
 
I am a massive Brooks fan. I really hope he continues to Kill it.

Very skillful and a great defender.

the truth is that He shouldn't be resigned at the end of this contract on his current salary.

In saying that, I hope is a 1 club player and we can see some consistent finals appearances.

James Roberts put in at the start of the year, Gildart seems to be the wrong fix for our backline (fast and snappy, less so a gritty defender).

Having Doueihi in the back would be massive as he clearly gives it his all. Were Winning*, yet were doing it by 1 point. Now that our halves have clicked if we can improve our defense and stop 2 more tries a game we should be able to make the 8!

AD isn't a better defender than JTJ, might be better than Gildart but last year his defensive efforts were terrible. People say he puts in this effort but defensively last year he wasn't up to scratch.

Brooks does put guys twice his size on their backsides with his defending & now thanks to Jacko his attack is also improving
Before Hastings he was just trying too hard to do everything
now that he’s a bit more relaxed it’s showing on the field

I don't see how Luciano fits the Cows plans at all.

Clearly Payten has identified him as a hard working second rower and someone he could work with to improve. The Cowboys seem to have forwards growing on a farm somewhere. No idea how an ill disciplined, energetic forward with defense issues fits their plan at all.

Odd prediction, BJ Leulia joins the Cowboys. I have no idea though if it will be for Chump change or way too much $$$, yet I bet bro follows bro.

Can't remember who said it, it was Sterlo or Gould or some footy brain. The best Centers are those that were 5/8 as a kid.

Why?
As they understood that playmaker role. They knew a few tricks for getting the ball over the line and for creating opportunities out wide.

Jamie Lyon typifies this. A guy who was always half Center/half 5/8. At center though he could create opportunites and make things happen.

Doueihi - is damn hard to spell. It's not me is it, the valves and constants and other english garbage stuff my typing. Cmon we call other players letters and stuff why hasn't Doueihi had a nickname yet!!!

Anyway the D man is an athlete. he has grit and he has some playmaking ability. Hence make him Center!

Sheens, in what was a massive blunder hired Braith Anasta as a third playmaker on the field. Why? Benji and Farrah would get locked down by the opposition teams. Greg Ingles was most deadly when he was forgotten in Origin.

D man to me is someone we want as "third playmaker". I am seeing Daine Laurie fitting our Bench/xfactor role if not long term fullback, sadly also seeing Oliver Gildart fit that role as well. ... Both are defensive liabilities and both have talent we can exploit.

Adam "D man" Doueini, is someone who can play 80 minutes, one of 3 tigers who can defend and offer a hell of a lot of value to our team. Put him at Center and get that defensive combination going with a little attacking flare.
 
Anyone thinks of playing Doueihi at centre needs to realise that he would be one of, if not, the slowest centre in the comp. And you Simply cannot play him alongside Maumolo or Noffa. It's suicide to play two slow players side by side. If Doueihi plays centre we need to find a winger to go outside him. Maybe Peni

I’d be surprised if Madden was still in the NRL by then.

Fair enough but replacing Brooks with Madden makes the team weaker, not stronger.

I think he's headed for the back row - whether he likes it or not.
I don't hate him at centre as he's a big body...
But you're right, He doesn't have the speed to be effective in the comp...
His defensive reads are mostly poor...
And has tendency to ball hog - Not great traits for a centre.

Most of us are probably trying to make the best of a bad situation, Guy has some mongrel and is in our best 17 players...
But I'm not trading halves, hookers, or Current Backrowers for him - Id have him at lock Behind Joffa and Peach...

Bench maybe? Until he makes his way into the backrow somewhere....

Fair enough. But if Madden ever has a game as good as Brooks' first one, that'd be a start. And we can scoff all we want at Brooks' Dally M but if most halves, let alone Madden, ever had a season that good it would be rightfully be their career highlight. To get to Brooks' level is a long way.

Disagree. He is one of the best players in the comp. Would be in every team playing at the moment.

Has to go in somewhere in the starting side. Good captain, reads the game well and don't forget he is a very good goal kicker as well. Behind Joffa and Peachy? I think not.
