Much appreciated thank youFollowing this weeks recruitment & retention meeting.
Nikora’s delayed/lacking response to the club has been brought to ahead following his management asking for an increase per year on our offer. He’s been given a take it or leave it response with no reply so far, another Sharks back rower in Jack Williams & Matt Doorey from the Bulldogs have been discussed as a target should this not eventuate.
Franklin Pele also appears to be a no go either due to higher offers elsewhere & focus has now turned to J’Maine Hopgood from the Panthers.
Jack Bird is a genuine option from the clubs point of view at the right value but they get the feeling we aren’t a genuine option for Jack, his management using us to hurry up the Dragons, not to say if the right offer comes in it might sway him, but don’t see this going much further.
Joe Ofahengaue has taken up his option for 2023.
Can confirm Sione Fainu is a top 30 player for 2023.
Only a handful of spots remain for the squad next year & lack of genuine targets has the club sitting back with money to spend & see who gets restless.
Sheens is hoping to pull a fast one on the Eels & securing the services of a young winger named Matthew Komolafe.
In relation to RE-signings as it stands only Tommy Talau has a 1 year contract in front of him & Jock Madden is negotiating with the club, the rest are free to find new homes.
Mikaele almost seems certain to be heading to the Dolphins.
Tuki Simpkins & Jacob Liddle have permission to look elsewhere.
Final top 30 spot is being saved for an outside back, the wait & see approach will come to ahead with this in the next 2-3 weeks as it must be filled by June.
Outside back depth/strike power the main focus for remaining 2023 spots, Tex Hoy has been offered to the club by his management.
Very early talks & he showed what he can do prior to his injury, 2 year deal in the works but don't see anything further on that till he's back on the field. Thanks for the info @THE_POM. Where does the club see Daine Laurie in it’s future? Has an extension been discussed?
Hastings, Brooks and Doueihi all off contract at the same time, does the club plan on retaining all three and if so, is Doueihi earmarked to play centre for the next few years?Very early talks & he showed what he can do prior to his injury, 2 year deal in the works but don't see anything further on that till he's back on the field.
This is certainly an interesting topic considering many wanted Brooks gone, but waiting to see how this partnership develops. Doueihi will be brought back slowly. A few have discussed directly with him about putting on some baulk & becoming a ball playing 13 to compliment Brooks/Hastings.Hastings, Brooks and Doueihi all off contract at the same time, does the club plan on retaining all three and if so, is Doueihi earmarked to play centre for the next few years?
We have one spot left for 2022.How have we only got one spot left

Legend @THE_POM that's great on the belief in our juniors coming through.Sione's future is seen in the 2nd row but comes down to conditioning, needs to build some agility & speed.
Euan Aitken was discussed but nothing has come from it at this point, belief in our juniors coming through more over Aitken, plus would prefer Bird.
Dudley Dotoi was seriously struggling with homesickness early on but seems to be settled now, partner coming down soon so hopeful on retaining him long term.
Tamou & the club in no rush but wouldn't rule out 1 more year if he maintains his form.
The young player from Penrith has not been mentioned to me.
Currently only 4 spots left for 2023's top 30We have one spot left for 2022.
There are several free spots for 2023.
Pathways meeting due for 2nd week of May, hopefully can answer this better for you then.L

Are you able to mention the junior outside backs that the Club has high hopes for? Obviously you mentioned Scolari, Feledi & Dotoi. Any recent word on Trey Peni or some of the SG Ball / Matts guys coming through?
You'd think he'd want to come and play for a team that's on the way up.We can always ask tho.....
Sounds like he wants to be nurtured. You'd think he'd want to come and play for a team that's on the way up.
Another issue was his lawnmowing.😂Always had the talent, but the issue is with his injuries. Only a matter of time until he breaks down again.

Brooks.....Any talk about players going to the ESL?
Gildart/Peachey ....
. . . . . . and then something happens at the last minute and it doesn't come off. It’s always a big deal when they pop up and give there info because it’s normally spot on
Packalino at least hammered Matterson!I'm sure they wouldn't be any worse than the
Reynolds & Mbye link up ...
or Packer & Matulino 😆
I like the sound of that @THE_POM if he can develop his conditioning to handle the middle. This is certainly an interesting topic considering many wanted Brooks gone, but waiting to see how this partnership develops. Doueihi will be brought back slowly. A few have discussed directly with him about putting on some baulk & becoming a ball playing 13 to compliment Brooks/Hastings.
Personally I think thats the best option for the club moving forward.
