Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I didn't want to mention it....
But that is our current reality.
He also then left the premier club over there as soon as an offer here was there for him....
He's here now, I have no doubt he'll put in for us....

Don't know if he has a short term personality, Or a toiler either. Some personalities work for a short time and then expire.... I'm optimistic on that... (Maybe moreso hopeful)
He's got a lot to prove, coming back to the NRL...

He could make a name for himself at the Tigers and be a club legend.

Or he could take a deal elsewhere and play some finals.

Either way, this will be a break out season for him, and people will know him if they don't already.

I'd hope he'd repay the faith and roll with us till the end and into the holy land, of finals.

Yes exactly. He got his chance via injuries and took it. The point is though that Melbourne had judged he was dispensable.

Also I’d love to know if Solomona had a kicking licence lol.
So if Storm judge he’s dispensable like we did, that means we’re off the hook? Not in my book of logic.

I think coming back to Oz was always on his agenda.
WT are a perfect team for him moving forward because the fairytale continues.
He's in an ideal situation because if he can help us into the 8 this year and next year that's great and if we don't make it he won't be blamed and will get another contract either with us or someone like knights, warriors etc.

I’m not arguing about on the hook or not. I don’t think he’d be the player he is at tigers anyway.

My point is that Melbourne’s superior systems still didn’t identify he was going to be elite.

We’ve always had quality hookers and fullbacks. Where are they now?
Interesting how our thinking has changed..we didn’t want Papenhuyzen because he was too small, but we did everything necessary to get another the same size?
We didn’t want Robbie because..IDK? Was it his age? Now we do want a class hooker of the same age?
That explains where we have been the last 10 years.

I'm just watching Tim Samona with his bleached hair run around with the Mounties.
He looks gassed after 12min. He doing a lot of walking.
If I was him I'd be trying to prove I'm not past it by going looking for the ball.
I was furious he did what he did and got banned. He was an exceptional talent.
A fit Simona playing at his prime would be awesome in our backline right now.

Club stuffed up on not backing Robbie and benj their whole career.

Pascoe was just backing the coach.

Would of been interesting to see how sheens would of managed bring Moses into grade with benji here.
Tim Sheens.. "Players get coaches sacked" ..That Tim Sheens..?

In another life, Hastings would have played for the Dragons on Sunday, where best mate Jack Bird now plays. They used to play “knee footy” in Bird’s front yard at Berkeley, and their mothers remain best friends.

I wonder if that helps explain the Jack Bird link with us? Would make a lot of sense given how close he and Hastings are. Fills back row, 6 and center...'and' Bird for 3 years would ensure Hastings stays also you would imagine.

You reckon?
It's taken us 20 odd years to have a "team" Where no one player is bigger than the team.
As an organisation, We revolved around our stars for far, far too long...
We’ve won 2 games out of 7 and you make it sound like we’ve arrived. That’s the kind of thinking that has infected this club forever. Mentality on par with our recruitment and retention.

WTF are you talking about....
You've obviously mis-read what I wrote?
- I mentioned nothing about winning games.
Although, From where we've been the last while - I do feel we're building.

I simply stated that we've had young superstar players since forever and in that, We've let them control the way we played and the culture of the club...
We're still working our way out of that legacy.

Feels like more of a team show these days, The Wests Tigers show -
Than it ever did when it was the Robbie and or Benji show.
Not that I didn't enjoy that show at times... Or enjoy the current show that much.

Just think it's more sustainable long term

We’re still going to need superstars to compete with the teams full of them. Or we can be happy to keep jagging a few wins like we always have.

We have played with courage the last two games but our lack of depth will catch up with us. We can't sustain the injuries and continue to compete and or win by field goals.

I'm not disagreeing....

But you know there's superstars out there that don't think they're bigger than the team... Right?
You know....
Superstars who don't go to union when they don't get an extension 2 years before their contract expires - Even though they're barely playing well enough to make the team.
Superstars who get you to finals more often than not
Superstars who know how to win a game of football... rather than pull some miracle play out of nothing at the death

Hopefully we can jag one or 2 of those ones.

For me it all comes back to creating a better club culture. The bloke you’re slagging was an icon of the game and yes, his form wasn’t always the best. Rather than force him out we should have been putting standards in place to prevent him getting overweight and disgruntled with the place. For whatever reason players rarely play to their potential here for long.

There's one point directed at one player....
Tedesco, Woods, Moses, Farah, Koroibete....
I'd consider them all stars in their time here....
(Stars who couldn't win us games more often than not)

Not all of them I think, thought they're bigger than the club - But it's existed here. Young blokes coming through who think they run the joint.
Exists elsewhere also, Although other organisations stamp it out quickly. We rolled with it for far too long... You seem to be arguing something different to my point.

The Icon of the game you're referring to, Also slagged off our club on his way out - Because he "assumed" he could wait until the off season to "Decide" weather the club can give him another contract
- Despite having 3-4 other guys already under contract for the same position for the following year... ASSUMED!!

Where is the club first in that?

Players have a small window to earn a living from the game. Clubs need to make players feel the love but at the same time, run a winning business. It’s a delicate balance and all clubs get it wrong sometimes but I think we just suck more than others.

Hi I dont know why every one talks about who we have had in the past that doesn't matter we need to look to the future and stop living in the past the only way is forward not backwoods
