I think people forget how awful defensively he was at centre too. There was a reason he got moved back to 6 and we were better off for it.

The reason he got moved back to six was because he was our only attacking threat in the halves last year

Brooks is not a better 6 than Doueihi though

Interesting comparison. Brooks is much faster, better defensively and stays on the park.

Yet Doueihi is a much bigger weapon with the football in his hand than Brooks is despite being slower. Brooks is a better defender but he's not the defensive master a lot of people seem to think he is, often racks up the missed tackles.

If Hastings continues to lead the team around like he has and Doueihi continues to be the attacking weapon he was last year that's an excellent halves pairing

Don't get so hung up on how fast they can run. It's a plus having fast halves but it is not a necessity.
