I see a lot of discussions on here over who we should or shouldnt recruit,all answers involve varying opinions in regard to age of player,position played or needed and the value of that particular player suggestion ...all valid as the thread indicates...
What I would like to see is when there are great young guys that are heading toward NRL stardom or a good career and have been selected at an early age,some from 15/16 still at school,their physical development has to be a priority,mainly because they still have natural growth and need to be helped along with the natural growth to become stronger as they train and play in their age division etc...
The reason I say this is we can all note a young player that showed huge potential just to suddenly disappear with an injury that he may not recover from (Simon) classic example although his and others similarly are freak accidents that are very rare,Im mainly saying that there are plenty that have had many months on the sideline through injuries,AD,Liddle,Kepoa,TT just for us atm but some have had 2 knees gone,2 shoulders gone,a combination of both ...
I know it is a contact sport and this sort of injury will continue to happen,but Im mainly saying that some of these young guys get very good contracts with good money,however that money seems to be sitting on the sideline and not getting the value that was paid for...
I know people will bag me for my thoughts,but there should be more thought into playing a Kid because of his great skills or giving him more time to physically develop as well as work on his skills...
