This stuff about Madge playing injured players is being blown out of proportion. Most players carry some sort of injury during the season.

Going into this week we know Maumalo, Nofa, Hastings, Brooks, Laurie are all carrying an injury. Is Kimmorley going to rule them all out because they're not 100%?

This also points out to one of our weaknesses - the lack of depth at most positions.

Yep. I touched on this earlier in the season. An injured mamaulo, as horrible as it was to watch in the warriors match for example, was still judged to be a superior selection over the next in line. It was Madges opinion which people can disagree with sure, but what has he got to pick from. Injured kepaoa, toa, the new rugby kid who’s name eludes me (who clearly isn’t ready and to blame Madge for not developing him 🤣), pauga etc etc and and out of form noffa on the other side which puts pressure on depth too.

I think it’s clear Sheens wants Ciraldo and the press conference the other day pretty much confirmed that for me… he’s been renowned for being a “development coach” and is highly rated because of that - Sheens is a smart man he knows what he’s doing he’s painting the picture for Ciraldo

His involvement of the development of the Penrith juniors and being the defensive coach there speaks volumes - widely known around league circles

We missed out on Bellamy when he was an assistant trying to break into the head coaching role and I’m not saying he’ll be the next Bellamy but I do see similarities

I’d be disappointed if we don’t get him - Flanagan isn’t the right fit and Morris will struggle to recruit (similar to Madge) another word Sheens referred to a lot was recruitment and developing with Ciraldo being able to do both

Sheens and Ciraldo would be the duo I’d feel comfortable with taking us to the next level

Thanks Mate,
Thats was a good interview and happy to give Noddy a go as interim. I think he will do well and by the sounds of it there is no doubt that Api and Papa are still coming.
I hope we at least out an effort in this week for Noddy.
One thing that was in stark contrast , and probably because he’s a rookie , but just the transparency and Relaxed attitude . I think having that type of personality literally 2 days after Madge , might be a good thing for healing the group .
It should help disperse any angst and give the guys who were picking daisies in reserves , a fire in thier belly .
To me he strikes me as a good bloke as well . Ringing Madge to basically let him know he didn’t dog him , shows an insight into his mentality as well .
And it’s not like we are getting a bloke who only ever played reserve grade .
He’s won origins , premierships , world cups . Individual awards .
I dunno he has good vibes around his all I’m saying .
Like Jason Taylor always had the opposite imo. I always wasn’t sure about him .

Who’s picking daisies in reserves apart from Noffa?

I don’t reckon he’s a head coach. But a FIFO condescending know it all I think he’s got that down pat.
Or do I have blu glasses on?
Na that's ok, I don't want him as a coach, seems like he's taken the easier option in the media, like JT and Locky.

Magpies, were you living in Haight Ashbury during the psychedelic era? Love the work on your posts. The colour is outstanding.
G'day Paws..........Dunno....... 🤔 I've forgotten.......But if that's the really posh suburb [not as posh as The Shire though 🤣] next to Blacktown Heights, which by the way is also a rooly rooly beaut suburb 👍 cause I lived there for a few years 😂.....well yeh man I would have spent time there doing lots of psycho drugs 😵 🙃 😊 👩‍❤️‍👨✌️
When you were there did you ever see this bloke 🥸 or this dude 😎 ? They both looked a bit suss to me, probably undercover cops or somethin lookn for drugs or somethin.
As you reckon the colour in my posts is outstanding I added a 'little' bit more colour especially for you Mr Claws 🥰.
Have a rooly rooly rooly great day my fellow avid Wests Tigers supporter and as that king, gas, fab song says "THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER" including my posts eh 🤣
Peace and Love Brother ✌️.

My initial thought when they sacked Madge was, they had a replacement basically signed sealed and delivered and there would be a announcement once the dust has settled.

I now think they are willing to consider anyone who is interested and go through a lengthy interview process rather than head hunt someone. Time will tell, but I have a gut feeling my preferred candidate, Ciraldo is not going to happen.

Wests Tigers are considering offering Cameron Ciraldo an unprecedented five year deal to entice the Panthers assistant to the club.

The Tigers have officially begun the search for Michael Maguire’s replacement but hope they will not have to look further than Ciraldo.

He has long been earmarked for the position with Tigers officials working in the background last season to bring him to the club.

Now they believe they are a genuine chance and in doing so could be prepared to offer him a five-year contract to help lift the Tigers from struggling club into a premiership force.

A contract length that long is almost unprecedented for a rookie coach. Craig Fitzgibbon inked a three-year contract with the Sharks last season despite being the most wanted coach-in-waiting.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson signed a five-year contract earlier this year but already has three titles to his name. Anthony Seibold was given a five-year contract with the Broncos after just one year at South Sydney.

Ciraldo has reached out to some in the game to gauge their thoughts on him taking up the Tigers position in a sign he is seriously considering the role. The Bulldogs would also like to land him but could shift their attention to Maguire now he is a free man.

Tigers head of football Tim Sheens said this week they were on the lookout for a development coach – leaving Ciraldo as the firm favourite.

Sheens also hit back at suggestions the club could lose players as a result of Maguire’s departure. Earlier in the week, Canterbury head of football Phil Gould accused the Tigers of failing to read the room and claimed as many as six players could head for the exit door if Maguire was sacked.

The Tigers privately believe it was Gould’s way of tilting the fight for Ciraldo in Canterbury’s favour given the Bulldogs are also in the market for the Panthers assistant.

Sheens has started initial contract talks with the likes of Jackson Hastings and Adam Doueihi, two players who are believed to be Maguire fans.

In Doueihi’s case, the club is confident that he will commit his long-term future to the Tigers. Hastings may be a different story given his close relationship with Maguire, although Sheens insists no players have requested releases.

Nor does he expect any to do so.

“There has been nothing from the agent or the players,” Sheens said.

“From my point of view, we’re business as usual. They’re on contract next year. We have already approached their agent. We know what they are looking at roughly. “

Now the shouting, swearing, rants and pseudo army training drills have left the dressing sheds, how are those forum members who believe some of our players are soft etc going to feel if the new coach has a more measured approach to our playing roster? I am referring to a coach who has the attention of the players in the shed, speaks in measured tones without all the other crap. Thoughts?
